Yes! They give you so many days worth of a travel allowance and you also still receive your housing allowance. So both of those covered all of our lodging expenses throughout the move!

I have posted this on several KZfaq channels. I am thinking of moving to Guam from San Antonio. Tx. I live 12 minutes from Lackland AFB. I own a home in a gated guarded community on a golf course. One private and one public course. This home is in a super quiet neighborhood in the county. No city taxes. Looking to swap with someone who owns a home in Guam and wants to swap. I’ve been wanting to do a dedicated video about this! But just to quickly answer here - when he gets his orders, he should receive info about how to navigate everything. You’ll have two options - having the military move everything for you or doing it yourself and having them reimburse you. Keep all moving related receipts no matter what! Good video✨ Put all your paper in wardrobe boxes and break down your small boxes put the in the garage or main level & the company should come out to take it. Debris pick up is what it’s called. One time pick up so make sure you’re done. No personal trash because it goes in a compactor. FYI. 🙂

I was so worried about all the reviews, but honestly our experience has been pleasant. Our neighbors are great, our street is quiet, any issues we’ve had with our house has been handled quickly and efficiently. The houses aren’t anything special, definitely typical military housing. But our experience has been nothing like what the reviews had me expecting!

From what I’ve seen, yes! Some houses are flipped though. Like the kitchen might be on the left side vs the right. But other than that, they’re all identical!

That was our very first neighborhood we moved into together!! 😭💕 We LOVED it! And San Clemente is a beautiful town! Be sure to explore the downtown area. We loved Sonny’s for Italian food! As for the housing, we had zero problems there. This was over five years ago though, but I know people still there who enjoy it! We would go back in a heartbeat.

Oh my goodness thats so sweet! This is also our first house together :) Housing has been a breeze so far so you're right about that, we applied a week ago and we get our house next month! We like it! We like the area, our part of the neighborhood seems to be super quiet and low key. We’ve had a few minor things happen and maintenance dealt with it quickly! So overall, it’s been a pleasant experience 😊

It easily becomes overwhelming. Simply take one room at a time and give yourself a little space in between projects. One the washer dryer and fridge are full , the beds, bath and kitchen will help you get settled easily. I spent a lot of time starting fresh on lawn and garden.

We just got orders to Quantico from Charleston, SC. My husband is air force! We are so incredibly sad to be leaving Charleston, but excited to go back and watch more of your vids to see what your life was like there! Charleston was his first duty station and we’ve been here for 4 years 🥲 🌴

My mom was such a pro at moving, we had two international changes. I look at those years growing up in the Navy as the best years of my life! It set me up to be able to make friends easily all of my life. Have so much fun!!

Fellow milspouse trying to figure out the base housing situation also! Haha. Currently in an apartment off base in CA and trying to move on base for a 3/2 house with a yard for our pup! Thank you for reminding me to focus on the good things in where we are! The initial transition to a new state or new house makes me nervous also but it’s so true, when we set up our home and focus on what we like about where we are, we feel more connected and “settled”
