Around that time it was almost weekly installments of the Kerrigan/Harding feud. It got so bad that I heard one guy say, "if I hear one more thing about Nancy and Tonya I'll break both their legs." Back when you could get away with it.

This seems staged to me. Her reaction is not organic and seems refused. She kept saying "why?" but wasn't screaming or wailing. Her injury was extremely superficial and ever so coincidentally minor enough for her to participate in the Olympics. Tayna was the better skater, but she was white trash and the judges hated her image and didn't want her to be the face of the US. I am 100% certain this was an inside job to frame Tayna to get her out of the skating world. None of this makes sense. How did that guy just walk freely behind the curtin with a weapon? He was a big guy, if he wanted to hurt her he would have broke her leg, not just bruised it. There were cameras literally everywhere, no one would commit a crime like that knowing there was cameras everywhere. Why was he not seen on film? The camera was conveniently right behind the curtin so how did they not catch him on film? I don't even think she was hit at all and was just acting. Would be interesting to see the medical report and see if there were any pictures of bruising or whatnot. You would think if there were bruising they would have showed pictures of her leg.

Before the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics, Tonya Harding’s ex husband’s (Jeff Gillooly) friend (shane echekerdt) had hired two men (Shane Stant and Derrick Smith) to break Nancy Kerrigan’s knee to secure a direct route for Harding to enter the 1994 Olympics. Nancy got off the ice after practicing, was in a corridor shortly after, when no one was looking Stant went up to her, pulled out a baton or an iron bar, and broke her kneecap. He then broke a glass door to escape with Derrick as the getaway driver. Tonya was “supposedly” involved, which I don’t think she was. She received three years probation, 500 hours of community service and a $160,000 fine - and was ultimately banned from the U.S. Figure Skating Association for life.

I honestly think Nancy and Tonya were both victims in their own right. Nancy was a victim of the attack, Tonya was a victim of her abusive husband that wanted to take away everything Tonya had (skating) and essentially framed Tonya into the mess.

Good thing Nancy recovered to compete the winter games in Lilehammer 1994 and get the silver medal. I can’t imagine how devastating. in my opinion I’m very furious about two attackers this was unforgivable.

That's correct, ULM's first win over a ranked opponent since joining FBS in '94. But it was its second win over a ranked program in its history. In 1973 they defeated 20th ranked Richmond...the Spiders were Division 1 at the time...who were sporting a nation-best 14-game winning streak by the score of 14-8 in Monroe.

@@apollofell3925 And what behavior would that be? You think a male athlete would be so jealous of his rival that he’d hire his ex to take the other player out? He’d be laughed out of the league. 🤣🤣
@apollofell3925Ай бұрын
@@burmesepython393 I know plenty of male athletes who are jealous enough to beat their girlfriends/wives. Maybe you remember, since he was in the news recently, the athelete who everyone knows killed his ex-wife and her new boyfriend; if that wasn't jealousy, I don't know what is. But what I was really getting at wasn't atheletes behaving poorly, it's men in general - the MAJORITY of women who are murdered, are murdered by jealous men. Jealous she divorced him, jealous she dumped him, jealous she wouldn't date him to begin with - jealousy is the leading cause of femicide. It feels obtuse to accuse women of being the jealous ones while men are the ones overwhelmingly murdering folks out of jealousy.

I was not alive when this happened, but something that bothers me is all the stuff that people let slide in the past. Monica Lewinsky was blamed when she wasn't the problem...
