This Band lost most of its appeal when it ended the wonderful tradition of performing "Tara's Theme", also known as "The Theme from 'Gone With the Wind' " as the finale of its post-game performances. That was the most beautiful song played by any college band in the country. The atmosphere it made you feel after Georgia games was incomparable to any other college band performance. Such a sad, sad decision to stop this wonderful tradition. The Redcoat Band will never inspire this event again. I was a member of the Redcoat Band in the sixties and am extremely disappointed that some fool made the decision to stop playing "My Own True Love". A terrible decision. The Redcoat Band is not the same and will never again be that important.

Love how you could hear the excitement, anyone who played brass knows. Some of those notes were like when you first learned the instrument. Just shows how excited they were couldn't control breathing

@@UGARedcoatBand thanks, and you all are simply amazing. I have always wanted to become a redcoat. I was on the drumline at Washington County High School but I quit school because I was getting bullied. I actually miss marching band a lot. I would love to even spend a day with UGA Drumline.

Just a reminder. Jim McKillip who plays fabulous trumpet solos in this performance is also a World-Class Jazz Pianist. What an amazing Jazz talent he is. Also, all these soloists played magnificently during this Tribute to Roger Dancz, Georgia's long-time Redcoat Band Director. Roger was a marvelous trumpeter as well as the fabulous arranger of so many Redcoat Football Band arrangements.

That gave me the chills, watching that even all these years later that had to be a crazy moment to have to start cheering in the middle of all of that and play like I wouldn’t be able to even wrap my head around it much less trying to think of the notes lol. Love the redcoat marching band!!! My son hopes to be one of them someday. He is playing alto sax in the middle school band

I was a freshman when I played this show and I still find myself coming back to it on KZfaq time and time again! I’m now a senior about to play my final game next week, but I’ll always remember this! How time flies ❤
