I've done GM transaxles. I have well over 30 years turning wrenches. I've never dropped one in less than six hours, alone. Extra hands is the key to faster. Which when you have it loose, on a jack, you need extra hands. No, I'm not joking. They're very prone to rolling and if you happen to be close, you could have a transaxel on your chest. It isn't something I'd recommend to anybody. I doubt you've got the right tie bars either. They support the motor when the trans is loose and the subframe's out. Yes, it HAS to come out. Trying to take it out the top is, in theory, a nice idea. Scrub that crap too. Won't work, tried it already. The Ford transaxles ain't any easier. And if there's the one oddball that manged to pull that shit off, God bless him.
