Did you guys get that motor to fit the trans? The Turbo models used a Borg-Warner T5 transmission.

Yeah bolted right up. Also used a 2+2 turbo clutch. Plan is to upgrade to a z32 trans in the future.

I bought a parts Z32 rolling shell that had this motor all stock along with the cx mounts and oil pan. Parting out the Z made it very cheap.

Awesome! All I did to my Turbo automatic was turn up the boost, add 3 inch open exhaust and an intercooler and it runs low 13s in the quarter. People forget the ZX Turbo was the fastest machine available in the early 80s. Respect the Datsun Turbos!

It's beautiful! Many people don't remember how fast the Turbo ZX was when they were introduced. Nothing could touch them. I still have my Turbo automatic and all I did was turn up the boost, install full flow 3 inch straight pipes and ran mid to high 13s in the quarter on the track. I later added an intercooler and ran a 13.2. Full respect to the Datsun Turbos.

The 2.8 was an enlarged 240Z 6 cylinder. The Datsun 510 had the same engine minus 2 cylinders. I used to rbuild 510 engines. Mill the head @ 1/8 inch. Pull out the dished 510 pistons and install the flat pistons of the Z-240. My 510 then could run 125 mph.

TRIM black is part of the SEM dye system meant for interior and low temp applications. I'd use vht or another high temp paint meant for engines. Glory to the Z.

Oh yeah we used the trim black just for the brackets and stuff. We did used a high temp engine paint for the block. Thanks for watching!
