Hell yeah! I'm building a weathering yard for hawks and using the same construction. I don't have such nice soil, so I had to rent a gas auger to drill my holes, 17 in all.

I have an '85 2-door Caprice. It was my poppop's. It's got 24k on the odometer. Landau top. Needs a little bodywork, but it has the original 350 carburated motor. Red velvet interior, and it still looks good on the inside. I just don't have the time or money to fix it.

You said it was showing black, and it would have been underneath as its on back parcel shelf l seen, so dont put it on me, you said it..fuck. I have been custom painting for 43 years..l know you did it in silver, l could clearly see..ahh well, was only helping..now l dont care.

I think I was talking about the first time I painted it idk that was a couple years back now
@thetechman1438 күн бұрын
The black could be showing through from black base possibly, few coats, sand the orange peel, one or 2 more coats and you will see no black..use a grey or white base.
@cappafpv8 күн бұрын
It was painted with a silver base not black this time. Silver base with silver flake. If your seeing black then maybe a reflection

Installed mine, were as tight as we could get them, 100 miles later, loose, and some of the lock bolts were sheared. The bolts were also able to bottom out and would not be in the lock mechanism anymore, printing nylon bushings at the moment to keep bolt where it needs to be.

Hi brother cappa… I’m currently restoring an 89 Chevrolet caprice classic like yours… questions if i may: 1) is this a DIY project i can do solo, or is it difficult enough that’s it requires someone technically trained for body work restorative projects? And 2) does this provide a water tight seal against strong pressure washer cleaning and heavy rainfall? Thank you for taking the time to respond.. From DUBAI with ❤
@cappafpv2 ай бұрын
Hello, this too isn’t very hard to install yourself. You can use a jig saw to cut the roof. This doesn’t leak in heavy rain fall or any natural water event. If you go through a car wash chances are water will get in a little. I’ve only ever got a tiny bit one time and it was with the pressure washer. I just use a garden hose now only when washing the car.

@@cappafpv thank you very much for taking the time to respond brother Cappa… this clarifies things a lot…i think i will take a swing at this project, though i am not as technically competent as you, I’m afraid, lol… but you’ve given me the confidence to attempt it. God bless..

The canvas I got from the company that makes the top so it matched perfectly. The suede I got off eBay and sent them it to put in the sliding top

the key to this is to not overload it. Refrigerators, freezers, and dehumidifiers run intermittantly, not full time. The biggest draws are the A/C and electric stove and electric dryer. If you learn your house and how to balance the loads, you can run everything. Just don't try to dry clothing in the electric dryer while running a 450 degree oven. (retired electrician). I have a silimlar set up in my own home and wood shop.

Where can I get the longer bolts from ?
@cappafpv3 ай бұрын
Mine came with it. But they are shitty and rusted like the wheels did. Hit up Lowes and get some stainless ones or get a set and have them chrome plated.

As someone who has these wheels, the screws they sent with it aren’t long enough to go through to the adapter and those bolts the center start to rust pretty quick, might wanna swap out for stainless steel or something

I bought the Harbor Freights, McGraw 21 gallon 175 psi oil-less unit. It died in less than 2- Years time with very little use. I don't see this unit lasting much longer. As they have a lot of the same components. Good luck with manufacture support & finding parts. They don't exist. I'm very disappointed with my purchase.

My mcgraw has been kicking for 5 years now, feeding an additional 21 gallon tank, running a coats tire machine on occasion. Only complaint is how noisy it is
