Where is the spot at 1:31?
@franciscogodoy91584 ай бұрын
110 mph (177 km/h) is almost two cars per second. The train at 4:26 seems to be going that fast.

sick of it. we have have to send billions to ukraine to satisfy neo cons and leftists in this country and all we get are flat broke and stupid migrants and crappy trains like this.

I am from Uruguay. Excellent video with fast trains. And what a beautiful state NY is! Passenger trains are virtually non-existent here, we have a good bus service though. Thank u & best wishes

I have a suggestion that would make these videos more interesting. Use a speed gun and display their speed on screen.

Very cool - great catches, pretty settings, and love the atmosphere you captured - heat, exhaust, the feel of the moment. Cheers~

I so enjoyed watching Amtrak trains at speed. I like the way each train is named, the Empire, & the Maple leaf for examples. Here in New Zealand we name our passenger trains too: The Trans- Alpine, the Coastal Pacific & the Silver Fern. But, they don't travel at speed as the gauge of the track is only 3feet & 6inches!

Is there a reason these trains seem to use their horns almost continuously?
@bobclavile56536 ай бұрын
They are required to use horns at EVERY railroad crossing, no matter how many are ahead of them. Dumb people like to go around the barriers...SOME don't make it. The engineers do not like Killing people.

In India most of the important trunk routes allow max speed of 130 km/h While a small stretch of 200 km in the country allows 160 km/h For the Americans, 130 km/h is 81.25 mph, and 160 km/h is 100 mph India is in the process of laying a 500 km stretch of high speed line exactly like Shinkansen, built under technical and financial assistance from Japan. The entire network is broad gauge, 1676 mm. I believe only BART in the US is broad gauge

Are there any electrified lines in USA ? How many drivers take place in the train's cabin ? Thanks
@agentorange1537 ай бұрын
(1) Most American railroads use diesel trains -- only a few lines are electrified (other than metro and light rail systems, which are all electrified), namely Boston-Washington DC, Philadelphia-Harrisburg, and most of the suburban lines in the New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia and Denver areas (plus a few in the Chicago area, and one currently in the process of electrification between San Francisco and San Jose, CA). (2) On mainline railroads, there are 2 crew on the engine -- the engineer and the assistant engineer (formerly called the fireman).
