In the slide at 8:30 alpha state had spin +1/2 but when we tarted discussing Blotzman (13:40), alpha state became -1/2. Can anyone clarify?

@ 3:56 REPEATED ERROR: The protons do not align BECAUSE their magnetic moment isn't aligned with the external B-field! When the B-field is turned ON only a very small fraction is accidentally aligned. Almost all of the them isn't aligned and start precessing.

I have a doubt. Why does a nuclei precess in the first place? why doesnt it just align in the direction of mangetic field axis and rotate.

@@tanmoydutta5039 Protons precess because almost no proton has a magnetic moment in the direction of the external B-field. It's like a spinning top. As long as the top is aligned with Earth's magnetic field it does not precess: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f851o5pj2pm3lqM.html
