I was in this video, right at 2:15 [on KZfaq, I am the thumbnail] with the glasses and holding the staff with the crown of thorns. We had a skull on there, but it fell apart in the rain during one of the shoots. What a ride, in the middle of two different tropical storms. My dad was here during one of the processions carrying a cross to boot. To clarify, yes, this was the original version of When I'm Gone, which was eventually replaced with this version, for reasons below: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pqyhZMiFntqxemg.html It was a joy to be here, leaving from the Beau Rivage on a bus early in the morning, reading Tenchi Muyo manga checked out from the Long Beach Library, getting on site, having breakfast burritos, then hanging out with Todd, Matt, Chris, and Brad before we got into costume and started shooting, right as the rain cranked, drum sets floating in the mudpits. Sandwich lunch at a local church in Wade across from the Chevron, and then when all was said and done, an amazing fried chicken dinner at a Knights of Columbus east of the filming location (no longer on the map). It was such an experience, and we had fought to get this video released in the first place, as 9/11 + musical performance involving the members being buried alive wasn't in good taste at the time. A USO compilation video became the primary for "When I'm Gone" but this is the true version, and I thought I had lost this moment, considering the late history of 3 Doors Down, so I thank you for posting this so I could find it again. Props. <3
