This is so amazing of you to teach me how to play a Djembe . I collect African art and cultural items , my coworker just gifted me an African handmade Djembe , my drum is a little smaller than yours I would say mine is medium . But my drum doesn’t sound as rich as yours , is mine tight because it’s brand new and will sound differently as I play more ? Or is a medium drum never going to give me a rich sound .
@RhythmInAfrica7 күн бұрын
It will be rich in it's own way. What gives the sound the richness is lesser about the size and more about the shape of the drum and, thickness of wood and thickness of skin used. Getting the combination just right is tricky.
