When I heard the “social justice” thing, it brings concern. That type of phantom chasing has created horrible social issues and violence in cities like LA, Bay Area, Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Chicago, DC, NYC, and Philadelphia. Record numbers of people are fleeing states that embrace SJW narratives. I’ve even had SJW’s call our daughter in law an Uncle Tom because she’s a black conservative. THAT is what is racist and hate filled. I would be infuriated if that type of hate and divisiveness is brought into NC. So this interview truly troubles me that someone relatively new to NC is bringing in this toxic belief system into our state.

Bluffton is nice and closer to Savannah, but I love Beaufort the best! Southern people are the best, and the Lowcountry has amazing charms! You can live in a small town, and yet close to Savannah and Charleston, and Hilton Head. The only drawback is the oppressive humidity in June through August (time to be in New England then).

It is amazing how much Greenville has transformed in the past 25 years! Its convenient location is a plus, and as a lover of Charleston, within striking distance of the coast and MUCH more affordable! Asheville and the Blue Ridge/Smokies are also handy. Such an inviting downtown with the Reedy River Falls and Swamp Rabbit Trail, as well as the culture of the Peace Center. Only real drawback is the 3 months of high heat & humidity Jun-Aug. I am concerned with how fast the real estate prices have climbed - e.g., condos for $1 million+ downtown.
@WhereNextBoomers

Hi Jim~ I can't imagine how much Greenville has changed in the past 25 years! It really is a great city with so much to offer and convenient to so many other fun places to visit! Unfortunately, most locations in the south suffer from high heat and humidity during the summer months. We lived outside of Dallas and May thru September could be very oppressive! I've seen a big increase in real estate prices in the past year in many of the most desirable locations to live. Not only have people retired, but many who are still working realized that if they can work remotely they can live anywhere as long as they have access to a good airport. I'll be interested to watch and see how long this trend lasts!
@jdhjimbo
@jdhjimbo 3 жыл бұрын
@@WhereNextBoomers The remote earning has really put price pressure on smaller towns, and along with demand, the lumber prices are forcing up housing prices, along with the continued low interest rates. The fundamentals of the world economy are still shaky, but with national debt out of control, people seem to be oblivious, and real estate has been a great store of wealth. Stocks can drop to zero, but there is always demand for housing. Other than gold as an inflation hedge, housing is the most so,in investment. I am happy to see all that has happened in GVL for the better. I hope the Asheville street scene does not move south. I always loved Ashevil,e andcits setting, but it has a very SF or Portland, OR vibe now (2 cities I lived in years ago, before they got real crazy). I think the so,I'd businesses that have come to the area, along with sane govt, bodes well for the whole state, as well as Greenville. The heat & humidity are something to adapt to, but better than cold, snow and gray force months up north. It will be 32 again tomorrow morning in Michigan, and it is May!! I will take a little heat & humidity, though I do prefer to spend 3-4 months in NH on a lake during the hottest months.

Why does everyone think they have to make a video on Prescott? This town is no longer a nice little quaint town. It’s now way over populated with homes being built everywhere. Supposedly an estimated 10,000 Californians are coming here every year, not to include those from Texas, Washington, Oregon, Colorado…. see no purpose in all these videos except lowlife real estate agents trying to sell out/ruin this town further to put money in their pockets(?).
