You are correct it is a virtual pinball. The ball movement on this game gives it away. it's a bit wierd and the rendering is different (though I think I had the ball 3d rendering and shading options different than the rest of the game)

My eyebrow did raise a bit after hearing they have never seen the original jaws movie. But.. the video and poster never eluded to this being a pinball game review, they admitted to not knowing the rules. I watched and was entertained letting us watch someone play their new Jaws Prem pinball while having a drink and commenting on their new experience.

lol I was literally just a few months old when Jaws came out. I never knew it was a "good" movie or highly regarded (or that Steven Spielberg made it) until I found out they were making it into a pinball and was like "what" That said I watched it the other day and really was nicely surprised great movie. I plan on watching it again soon as I think most good movies need to be seen a few times to catch the details. I'm not a pinball "theme person" for example The Godzilla theme did not move me until I played the game and saw how amazing it was and how funny the videos were and got interested. Same with James Bond, the theme didn't do anything for me until after playing the game, most of the bond movies I had seen were after I was an adult and really didn't think they were very good. But the Connery ones were much more fun and the game is AMAZING one of my favorites.

turn on "home team" or maybe it's called "enabled home team in freeplay?" in your settings, then once its' enabled hold down the left flipper for like 2 or 3 seconds before you start a game. you can have a few people including guests and choose which one you are. (also players 2-4 can do the same)

Every different type of CPU (like 8080 vs 6502 vs z80) has a different address for the boot code. it is this boot address or vector that does hold the boot code

@@arcade-cabinets How can you use the Fluke 9010A to FIND the Boot Address or Boot Vector? Some arcade games you have to Double the image of the ROM game code because of the CPU boot vector address, any reasons why? If the CPU boot vector address and ROM game code Boot Vector address doesn't MATCH up the game code won't start, any reasons why?

@@waynegram8907 the fluke won’t tell you the boot address, that info would be in the CPU’s programmers manual written by the vendor. If the boot address does not have the boot code the game will not boot that is by design the person who makes the video game pcb and the programmer must ensure the hardware and softwares has the boot code at the proper acdresss

@@waynegram8907 yes the ROMs contain ALL the code needed. the CPU knows (its in it's circuitry) which addreess to fetch or jump to to stasrt the boot

Supplementary question 😁 you have the oscope to trigger on the down slope for chip select. Is chip selected when 0 in that case? So you’re saying, when this chip is selected (low) look at the address lines that we have forced to be either high or low for that time?

@@arcade-cabinets The address scheme of the address mapping and ROM/RAM ranges. Every arcade game using a different address mapping ranges and address decoding which is based on what, the addressing scheme. Why can't all arcade games use the same address mapping and address decoding?

@@waynegram8907 The various hardware (memory and devices that are accessed at memory addresses) are configured as a function of what hardware exists, and what the CPU requires. The "address decoding" circuits map the different hardware to different addresses. All games cannot be the same as every game uses different hardware. designers also design there games to be as cheap as possible so if they only need 64k of ram or rom they'll only use that much where if another game needs 128k they'll use that.

@@arcade-cabinets The address decoding circuit will MAP the different hardware to different addresses using a Scheme or address Scheme? because a lot of arcade games use the same CPU chip, ROM chip sizes and RAM chip sizes. Most Arcade games use the Z80 CPU and 8 ROM chips and 4 to 8 RAM chips. When the game programmers are writing the game code they have to have the address mapping scheme prior to writing the game code because the game code has to have the address ranges. If you don't have the address mapping prior to the game code the game code would be writing and read addresses from the wrong locations "accessing" the wrong IC TTL chips, wrong RAM chips, ROM ROM chips?

More than likely that’s a config setting you can alter (assuming it’s mame) That said I don’t remember if those setting would be read only or read/write flash I mean you could still change them but if it’s in a read write area it would be simple to do with a key boatd attached if not it could be significantly more work. Unfortunately I don’t remember much about how the were setup as I’m old and forgetful

congrats! oh yes. first you want to go into the settings and turn down the shooter lane eject power from what it is (probably 255) to as LOW as you can while still allowing the ball to eject. otherwise it will rip up your shooter lane in no time. Then you also want to get cliffy shooter lane protectors even with that you can get them at www.passionforpinball.com. Now last time I checked Cliff was backed up for months, so in the mean time grab some clear vinyl or Mylar and put over the wood edges where the ball kicks out into the shooter lane. (no joke it will get damaged in even in a few hundred plays) without some protection. Next you probably want to get some button armor t o protect the art near your buttons. I specialize in making easy to install attractive and relatively inexpensive armor with my "Pinbawlers (TM)" brand you can get them at www.etsy.com/listing/1426850753/stern-pinball-button-wear-protectors for the "Generic" ones or www.etsy.com/listing/1452694179/stern-godzilla-inspired-pinball-button for the godzilla specific ones. the "Deluxe" have been very popular but honestly the regular ones are just fine and only about 1/2 the price. Finally look around the box for screws that fell out, last few games that came to me from Stern had screws in the box and various parts loose or completely unattached. so if you find screws look around for anything that might be loose or missing a screw. also double check that your switches are triggering. I've heard this previous batch of godzillas this year had bad optos in the building. besides that, just have fun. Godzilla is rated #1 ever for good reason, it's crazy good and addictive! enjoy man!

there were some connections issues (and missing) sound in that initial video, I found the problem and fixed it basically lose connections.
