@theloretour ! Old GM, new to PF2e, and a lukewarm lover of Golarion. But this video... well done, sir. Well done. Your delivery and style made me love the city of Otari and want to explore it. This caused a cascaded effect, making me go through other relevant videos and devouring those as well. You have greatly helped my enjoyment and knowledge of the setting. Thank you for your hard work, and you, sir, have earned a sub!

Dosen't the Mawangi expanse have its own language?
@theloretourАй бұрын
The Mwangi Expanse has a trade-tongue called Polyglot (or sometimes just "Mwangi"). It is a fusion of dozens of the dialects and local languages of the people who live there. It did not make the list because of its unique status as a trading language not typically used outside a commercial context. Well worth considering though for a budding Mwangi trader!

Two fun facts I discovered whilst researching this one: 1. Kelish (the language) has nothing to do with the Kellids (the people). Despite the similar spellings and pronunciations, the two are unrelated. 2. Osiriani is also officially considered an uncommon language, but in this instance I disagree. It is the most widely spoken language in Garund, doubtless preferred by many in the southern Inner Sea to Taldane, and must have at least as many speakers as, say, Halfling. I think GMs wouldn’t go astray by making it Common.

Many thanks and beautifully done if I may say so. So often Lore is overlooked and as a player it helps to have some background in which to flesh out a character. I would love to know what software you're using.

I love how you described Newspapers as if they're as likely to be novel to an audience who may or may not be familiar with Pathfinder as you described Leshy in the Ivy District episode.

Thank you! Will you ever make a video on the human/local languages: Hallit, Skald and Varisian? I'm playing a character from Brevoy (Kingmaker adventure) and I chose Hallit as a language he knows, as that seemed like a reasonable guess. But where are these "local" languages spoken daily and where can they sometimes be understood?
@theloretour2 ай бұрын
More language videos are on their way! There are a lot of human languages, many extremely niche, but I’ll try to cover as many as I can. Regarding your character, I think Hallit is the best choice there. In a nutshell, Hallit is a Kellid language most likely (of those three) to be found in Brevoy. Skald is mostly spoken in the far north-west Lands of the Linnorm Kings, and despite being a human language, actually uses Dwarven (i.e. Petran) runes in writing. Varisian is mostly relegated to Varisia far west of Brevoy across the Mindspin Mountains. Hope that’s useful!

With the Remaster Drow were retconned to be a rumor to cover up a greater threat and not actual exist so I found it very amusing the guide bringing them up. As if perfectly reasonable for people in universe to believe they exist.
@theloretour2 ай бұрын
Indeed, I think the drow were hit hardest by the Remaster changes. They call into question entire APs like Second Darkness. From a lore perspective, it is a bit bemusing, if understandable.

The Lore Tour is back! Real life should always come first for a KZfaqr, and mine has been exceptionally chaotic over the past few months. New apartment, new job, family - the whole thing. But now we have reached a new period of stability, and videos will be regularly appearing once more. Thank you for your patience! By the way - if you want to chat with me and others in the community more regularly, remember to check out our Discord! discord.gg/3HQsQJkE
