Since we have worked with the Corps for the past 8 years to create a more consistent flow, we have had good success with growing trophy browns below Martinsville dam as the water temps are cooler and plenty of food. However, even though there is a slot limit, there is still much abuse with people taking illegal sized browns that are in the slot limit, and fishing all through the hot summer months when even if they do get released, they most likely die. In 2016-2018 we had an amazing fishery down there, but the poaching and constant fishing pressure depleted it, so DWR has been trying to build it back up by adding additional browns, and moving some from upstream. So if we can just keep people from abusing the resource, ripping lips, fishing in the hot part of the summer, and taking illegal fish, we might be able to sustain it. But don’t have any faith because I see too many people that don’t respect the fishery and ruin it. So even if we get the browns back up to consistent size, people will ruin it. Just my opinion, but I have been fishing and guiding on this river for 15 years

Brian Williams, I totally forgot the fact that your camera was on, and that you got video, until now. I have footage of other recon's of Accessory Spring to survey the surface tie in points, but you seem to have captured the moment, thanks!

Do you have any videos of diving echo, or the dead sea?
@markwenner5391
@markwenner5391 Жыл бұрын
Yes, we do have footage of the short Echo dive we did after the Accessory dive, and that's been sent to NPS. Matt Vinzant was wearing a helmet light, not a camera (as he was in survey mode) and did not get any in water video of Dead Sea. We did get plenty of topside video of the dives completion.

Hey there! So your saying it was stocked below Martinsville dam? Which is considered warmer water later on? I just thought lower Saluda meant north Bassett to Fieldale. Thanks tho!

I bought a Viper G2 in 16ga but it won’t eject shells less than 1200fps. It’s basically a single shot with federal game loads & Winchester superX. Both are 1165fps. Only shells that run reliably are either my reloads or Remington’s express which are $20 a box. Uggh. I want to love this gun though
@bmwcaves
@bmwcaves Жыл бұрын
That sucks ! Since this review, I have runs several hundred more rounds through it on sporting clays, trap and skeet. It does stop feeding shells after around 200 contentious rounds fired but after a though cleaning she runs like a champ again. Have you tried completely breaking it down and soaking parts in a good solvent ? Or maybe replacing the gas rings?
@ericgarrison903
@ericgarrison903 Жыл бұрын
@@bmwcaves maybe you can help. The gas ring? Is there just one that is seated inside the gas cylinder? Is there not a ring that sits in front of the piston ? I just want to make sure that I’m not missing one. I just got the gun and it won’t eject my empties. Please help my son and I. Lol

I have the Viper G2 12 gauge in Bronze and it is a sweet shooter. I also have the Mossberg SA-20 and SA-28 which are made by the same company (Armsan) as the Tristar G2s. They are basically the same guns.

Thank you for creating this, Brian. She was a bright and funny lady. She truly loved the caves (both dry and wet) and had the great heart of an explorer. I hear her laughter in the photos of the eulogy.
