I know you shouldn’t confuse an actor with his character but it’s hard to imagine buster merryfield being teetotal

This bit locked in his role as Spencer.

I can imagine the Disney/SEGA equivalent being Matthew Mercer as Goro Majima doing a Character Commentary of him watching Little Einsteins at the Cinema because of well, if we can have Crazy Steve watching a Dora the Explorer episode, then why not?

I love the way Rodney brings Jive Bunny into this. One of the best bands of the 80's I might add.

Great entertainment from John Sullivan. All the actors were brilliant 👏 👌 🙌 in every episode.

This is Albert's greatest moment by far and he barely even says anything- just brilliant.

It's unfortunate that scenes like this became only occasional highlights in the later episodes of OFAH, thanks to the overall level noticeably deteriorating after series five (although all good things obviously come to an end). I'm glad that Fawlty Towers and Blackadder, my two other favourites, bowed out before the original humour stagnated. A shame that the BBC can't understand that anymore (I'm looking at you, Mrs Brown). Mind you, The Simpsons is dreadful now, and even Family Guy has lost its edge. Unfortunately comedy these days is no longer fresh and innovative, it's dull, generic nonsense, and there are too many stand-up comics out there. I'm just glad we've still got this available. It's still hilarious, you can't deny it. It makes me laugh far more than the "falling through the bar" scene does nowadays.

One of Buster’s first acting roles was in a series where he starred alongside Lennard Pearce. They didn’t do a scene together but buster said in his book they met backstage and got on well

I think even David Jason can barely hold it together , you can see it in his expression/lips at 3:57 when he slaps Albert with a newspaper. He wants to laugh so hard.

Talking of funny, my most favourite episode is Tea For Three, especially that part when Rodney says, “Yeah, well, he used to be 6 foot 1, but like he said, he had a bad landing.” It is one of the funniest lines in comedy history. I also like the bit when Del says, “You can’t stand around street corners with your face. The traffic will be waiting for you to change to green.”

More memorable moments in one scene of this sitcom than in entire series of modern comedies - which seem more concerned with "causes" like "body positivity" & mental health awarenesses ect written by solipsistic, "empowered" unfunny girl comedians taking "ownership" of their races & sexualities ect 😴💤

Ha ha. I was just going to write that word for word! I've heard the story that the rest of the cast gave him a hard time to start with as they were pally with Leonard Pearce, but he played the role of Albert 100%. I'm fact, I much preferred his character over granddad.

@BM-jy6cb grandad was great but Buster really came into the role! It didn't quite gel at first I recently went back and watched the episodes in order but the chemistry became amazing pretty fast
