I say it like this. I love a lot of games. I hate a lot of games. But all games regardless of rhe quality or quantity, deserve to be physical and and preserved for future generations. Learn from the failures and embrace the successes of gamings past.

It's refreshing to see a list made by someone who actually played the games. A lot of these lists should be called the most advertised genesis games and include games that aren't even good.

What a huge nostalgia trip... A buddy of mine got me into Elite: Dangerous a few years ago, and I had vague memories from childhood of this game. I never beat it lol. Also, space scares the crap out of me. I think that was part of the thrill.

I liked all the games you mentioned, besides centipede, I didnt hate centipede, but it wasnt one of my favorite. Well I mean, if we're talking the arcade version, I loved that an id pump quarters into that puppy for hours, One of my favorite Atari games was Maze Craze, I think of all atari games I played that and Adventure the most.

I really enjoyed watching this video, especially the moment when you had a perfect run of wiping out the bugs without a miss. That was one of my favorite things to do when I played it, so it brought back memories. Megamania has always been one of my favorites as well. I think another reason that some people might not like it as much, is that it can be really hard until you learn the patterns to beat the cookies, dice and irons. Some people shy away from a challenge, others take it as a privilege to have the opportunity to figure something out, because when you do it becomes an even more rewarding experience. The other top shooters for the 2600 like Space Invaders, Demon Attack and Phoenix, require more traditional shooter skills, whereas, as you mentioned, there is an extra layer to Megamania in terms of its rhythm and movement. It isn't just the shooting that is enjoyable here, but the weaving through the enemies while shooting. Its a unique quality to the game which must have come from the "fine tuning" that Cartwright mentioned when talking about why the game was so successful. He deliberately coded in that rhythm and those extra waves of variety, and that effort paid off in a superior game experience. An excellent argument for a superb game. One of my favorites as well. Thanks for putting in the hard work and making a terrific video, I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of your clips!

Berserk is #1 for me I think? my argument for why it is better than Megamania is because no matter how many times you play through the stages, you can move different directions in all directions and the gameplay changes based on how YOU move - same enemy type is less repetative than same 'empty' screen being filled by the things coming down Vanguard a close 2nd ? both with great variance progression!

Yes. I also in my forties and some people say I might have autism. It's odd. People say my behave is a little off in some situations and that I make people unconfortable by having "weird" reactions or making jokes that are not fit to the situation. I also get craaaazy when my childrem yell, cry or are caughing too much. More than the average. On top of that I have specific interests. Other than that I am very friendly, have a good sence of humor and a lot friends (whom also say I might have autism). My mom thinks it's absurd though.

Expecting retro game content to continually pull in big numbers was naive on his part. I thought CGR was good in its prime, but lacked depth to last into the 2020s. When he started complaining out loud, changed the channel’s name constantly, I eventually unsubscribed because his work became unrecognizable.

Devil advocate here. A bit of this is due to the ever strangulating policies at KZfaq. Think about all the edgy KZfaqrs that are censoring themselves like they’re on primetime television in the 80s. You’re not here in four letter words, and you can’t even say kill or any other words like that. So the fact that he swears it all in his videos, makes him far different than most KZfaqrs nowadays. But the rule seems to be if you curse within the first 18 to 30 seconds of the video it will automatically get demonetized. Since this is his day job, it’s all about the money. So putting that shitty VPN ad at the beginning is a safe way to get past the danger zone. The classic theme song, maybe the result of some kind of money deal with Kyle, but the song is pretty profane to be putting at the start of the video for that reason. If it were me, I’d put the stupid add at the very front before the theme song then you could possibly put back the classic dirty one or even keep the new one. That at least would help with the brand shock you spoke of. Here’s James, paying the bills, then the theme song starts, and we’re off to the races.

From the UK. We had Max Steel toys here. They were kind of set up as the alternative to Action Man (GI Joe in the US). They were the same 12" scale, and are pretty hardy and well made. Most kids had at least one or two to have with their Hasbro Action Men. I like them, but they didn't have the same appeal as Action Man.
