She never loved him and he did everything in his power to get a true feeling of love from her. I would never tell my children point blank to their face that I wish they were never born. That's what she's essentially saying. She emotionally abused him by telling him she was happy before he was born and showing zero interest in him.

This scene is so powerful. I’ve dealt with my share of mental issues/anxiety and this speaks to me. Faceless individuals that know too much, judging you and mocking you from behind a piece of glass. They can see your face, your past, and your faults as a mother. Great way to depict anxiety.

I wish y’all had seen the movie first before judging Eva. She made that France comment after putting up with Kevin’s defiance for so long, it finally caught up with her. It’s cold, yes, but she didn’t just randomly say that then acted shocked when Kevin grew up the way he did
