Still can’t believe how ahead of time God enabled Flying Lotus to be man. 10 years later it still hit hard 😭😭😭

(Sorry for my english) Yeah, after coming here many times I can say: slavery. The harvester (the villain) is a slave of... something else, probably the society that's destroyed. Why do I say that? Everything started when the first led lighter was caught initiating the mass absorbtion but what's the difference between him with one and without the little one? The huge tube on his back. The harversters are the only ones with these tubes in the LED fields and forest, these tubes also have many antennae constantly sending red signals which are repeated in the back of the harvester, the first ligther conviniently pushed it out, cutting the signal and shutting the lights both on the tube and on the harverster. All the while the other harvester on the background is still doing the same movements as before and his signal lights are still on. A last hint was that despite being robots they have some kind of sentience, saw-bot is a good example, if that tube was indeed controlling him it would explain the sudden shift in behavior, also since it's a tube it's probably where the LEDs are being sent to stop the harvesters from absorbing them, which means that the entire chaos was planned on sight which explains why it went to the city and why no harvester was absorbed.

Still my personal fav vid ever made. Hiro Murai (Directer of Atlanta, a lot of Childish Gambino’s vids) had such amazing and crushing vision for the video. I also wish Kendrick and Flying Lotus made more music besides this and Wesley’s Theory

I showed this to my dad when it was new. He said to me, tearing up, something like "If I see anyone saying music's bad now I'm telling em shut the fuck up" I miss him so so much.

My theory of this video is a little different… I don’t think the little boy is the man’s son. I think that’s his inner child. The little boy isn’t actually there. If you pay attention, nobody in the room is interacting with the boy except the man. I think he’s seeing himself as a curious and scared child. He’s seeing his inner child as he crosses over into the after life but he is fighting it due to a guilty conscious and regret over his choices. Exactly which choices becomes clear to me as he wonders into the junkie camp. If you notice, there’s a middle eastern man stirring a concoction of white milky substance. He’s pouring something black into it but the white stuff isn’t changing color. I think this is symbolizing the deceptive nature of drugs, specifically the kind you “shoot up.” And this is the symbolism behind the missing arm. The background story seems to be that he used a needle that infected him with AIDS and the missing arm symbolizes how death got to him. At the end, the inner child, which is curious, scared and also very disturbed ends it all and sets him free.

This is the song that introduced me to Kendrick Lamar back when it came out. I knew of him but didn’t pay any mind. After familiarizing, he became on of my top 5 rappers.
