Coach, when your team rebounds a missed shot and your wing players happen to be on the same side of the rim what is your rule for them to fill the lanes ? Should one of them cut across the court diagonaly to get to thier spot or should both of them run the same sideline and go to thier spots at the other end.

Excuse me I know this is an old video but how do you go about making an AAU team I been wanting to start one up but all the information I been getting is different so I want to know what’s the way to actually do it
@fernandobuchner51117 күн бұрын
Hey Coach. You mentioned an "OPEN GYM BOB HURLEY" game play strategy around the 18:15 mark. Do you have that information anywhere?
It's officially true. You can swap a basketball warm-up with a dance warm-up. 😊

Quickness at the right time !!! That’s just it. Some coaches hate this. And will bench you. I was mvp and held more double triples etc from this exact method. Trust me it wasn’t lazy ness lol 😂

I purchased a course while Alex Sarama was engaged in the basketball immersion project, and it truly elevated my coaching skills to a whole new level. My team only practices once a week, but with the knowledge I acquired, our practices have become more streamlined and effective. I am truly grateful to the coaches for doing an excellent job and generously sharing their expertise with us.

Kids are playing so many sports they are tired when they get to your practice or to another practice. And if young kids aren't confident they aren't giving a lot of effort.

Been coaching for 24 years , 17 years full time 50 hours per week in Europe and Asia. Moved back to USA in 2021 and noticed most if not all Basketball Academys only focusing on winning games with players who can't pass , catch , make left hand lay ups.

Why do people keep calling shots floaters. Floaters have zero wrist flick and are open palmed and straight up

I think maybe swimming track and whatnot are good “bridge sports” the correlation would be the core muscle development. Though swimming is a water sport it still is one heck of a great workout for your muscles as a whole along with your endurance and respiratory strengthening. Track is great for keeping in shape in off seasons. Also great for endurance! Lacrosse is more like soccer/hockey lol not football…great show coach! Watch everyday!

Is this defense effective if the offense runs something else than this 3-Out 2-In ? -With a 2 point guard offense (2-3 High, 2-3 Low), it would be hard for the top defender to put some pressure on the ball. Then overloading the point could create some tactical possibilities. -With a Horn formation, the point and the top of the key will be overloaded by the offense, while the baseline will be the target of backdoor cuts from the wing players on both corners. So the frontcourt could be overloaded quickly if the top and key defenders are beaten. -If the opposing team is accurate enough from deep, any 4-Out 1-In or 5-Out would made it very difficult for this defense. So could this defense deal with other offensive setups and how ?

1-4 press break. Teach them to jumpstop pivot square up pass. Then add 2 hard dribbles over time. We spend 1/4 of our practice specifically focus on dribbling/ball handling. But they dont dribble in game under pressure. They’re just not athletic/coordinated enough “We pass outta the press!” Additional pressure drills that allow the kids to keep the ball. While fouling them. We also play a game of football where there is no dibbling allowed. Again jump stop square up pass. Baselines are endzones 6th grade girls champs this year in our league. No special talent although we’re all developing it together I am a second year coach. Being mentored by some great coaches.

Depends on the discipline. 100 hours a year of school is nothing, but 100 hours of skiing is loads, if most people can’t afford to even try skiing once
