As a Puerto Rican I can confirm that this is true. Even though I don’t live in Puerto Rico when I visited I never noticed the sound until someone brought it up.

¡Me encanta! Acabo de suscribirte a tu podcast. Soy viejo, tengo 44 años. Tengo que admitir que no me gustaba demasiado el conejo porque bueno... Soy viejo. Una vez que vi a Titi me pregunto, estaba todo dentro, ahora estoy tocando para ponerme al día e incluso fui a un concierto. I love it! Just subscribed to your podcast. I’m old, 44. I have to admit I wasn’t really into el conejo too much because well…. I’m old. Once I saw Titi me pregunto, I was all in, now I’m playing catch up and even went to a concert. What made me feel absolutely stupendous was i was FAR from being the oldest person there.
