This has been my hardest struggle. I have learned a lot of great songs and can sing but doing them together I lose time. I will try and get this.

What is the cool guitar lick that plays at the beginning of all these play country blues tunes? I want to learn that one lol.

Tom you put some serious heart and soul into this goose bump blues! Thanks so much. I just got a Dobro duolian and this is one of the first pieces I'm learning! Cheers! tom in Maine

To get the Lightin' Hopkin's sound just right, you have to always have a bottle of Gordon's Gin in your back pocket.

I have always done Police Dog in open D. But now I can use your way and add it to my dropped D songs. I have a 12frt Duolian in D, a 14 frt in G, a Gibson LG2 for standard, and a Harmony Monterey for drop D. I even have an ES335 should I need one. Cary in Tucson

This is an example of why RJ is amazing a d how hard he is to copy rythymically this really strange different feels, time, dropped beats it's quite sophisticated

Tom! Like the lesson, been playing this song for many years, learned it from watching the video of Big Bill. On the turnaround he sticks to the A bass throughout until the end. Which could be technically wrong, not a music theorist but to the way he did it 😅

I learned this stuff at Sidcup Art School thanks to DICK Taylor (no not mick), and keef was no help! He'd turn into the corner so you couldn't see what he was doing. Hahaha! But Dick (Stones and Pretty Things) was so generous with his knowledge and technique.

Martin 0-18 with fossil walrus ivory saddle and fossil walrus jawbone bridge pins. I use Ernie Ball Earthwood phosphor bronze. 11-.52. On my Martin D15-M I have bone saddle and Buffalo horn black bridge pins and same strings. I am just learning how to play the Blues. Years I have been playing level 4 classical, strumming Christian Contemporary, flatpicking bluegrass.
Just want to say you’ve opened me up to open tunings after a long hiatus and they are refreshing
