A poor girl, IRL, fell out of her top bunk onto a thick, concrete slab. Broke her back; permanent injuries. Now, don't you feel safe? SHE HAD NO SAFETY RAIL.

3 Pocket screws on the corners will shear under load, same reason you use lag screws in the studs instead of wood screws. Either add a post on the corners and secure with lag screws, or at least a bracket. The ladder is insufficient as structural support with just 4 wood screws per leg, it’s also only on one side. There are only 3 pocket screws supporting the smaller side of the frame. Another bracket would help transfer the load to the side with the stairs. But you still need a more solid structure for the ladder. As you note, it’s flimsy to begin with. Put enough load on the ladder and the stairs will buckle in the middle. As a mechanical engineer, this does not get a seal of approval. This is, however, a great starting point. Just some more structure required.

Advantages. You hit the head if you get up from bed into the ceiling and can barely fit anything under the bed…

Question, please? HOW, exactly, did you screw the final 2 pieces? 3? Of mattress-slats to the frame? Where was your body? Did you fly up there + hover above??? Nice clean concept, great execution!!

Nice and GI pipes & accessories are best chosen. One suggestion would be to avoid one flange of guard towards ladder by making common by replacing elbow by Tee.

Is that screwing the panels on the wall enough to carry the self weight of the bed and the load on it..??

Really nice job I guess the latter in the front to the left of the bed is like legs for the bed so the other three sides have support good job, love it looks really good, attractive, good taste, and it looks very secure and safe ,I mean if you were over 300 lb maybe not, but children yeah it's good for your kids it's good for me okay have a great day🤗🤗🤗🤗

This doesn't look safe at all. Have you thought through about how much weight it can carry? The pipe ladder doesn't seem to be reinforced to the frame either, it cannot be used as a support.

The screws in the flanges on the top of the ladder are the only things keeping that bed from crashing to the floor on the outer corner. NOT SAFE in my opinion.

The design is not safe from the engineering point of view. Two weak points: screws attaching the ladder to the side board needs to be replaced by bolts going all the way through the side board and reinforced by a backplate. As this point has to carry entire weight of a person (plus dynamic load). Has to be designed to carry 500lb at least… Also the frame has to be reinforced as the corners (especially one at the right side of the headboard) can be subjected to the full load as well. And 3 pocket screws are not sufficient to hold it. Please consider it as “purely decorative”.

To prevent 'painful bruises', I'd recommend wrapping the 'safety rail' with 'pipe insulation foam' or a pool noodle. Moving the ladder to the foot of the bed would really enhance the appearance of the bed floating. And, instead of the your 'pipe ladder' design, I'd make a combo side-by-side ladder & bookcase unit.

@@nancysimmer9908 Are you off your meds? Simmer down Nancy. Do you normally ramble on and on? (Saying 'bed' 5x in a single run-on sentence.) This content creator posted this video on an international forum for commentary. She didn't ask you, nor does she need you to defend her. And, I certainly wasn't attacking her. Simply offered some suggestions to improve upon her design. if you love her bed design, just the way it is. That's OK by me. But your lack of imagination and problem solving skills is not going to silence me or anyone else who thinks otherwise.

My concern is to secure the bed dont use screw, instead use anchor bolt and stair its okey but screw is not safe, rather use bolt for more strenght and the attachment of your steps to more bolt go thru that metal base.
