That shack is a teardown. Total waste of money and labor! And he still has all the windows covered so no light when working inside.

New to the channel. If it were me, the 1st thing I would have done was cleared and removed ALL the surrounding trees within 100’ radius of the house. What he does is remove a few trees and leaving stumps 2 to 3 feet high. Enough to block access for the equipment. The 2nd thing I would have done is remove all the plywood from ALL the windows so you can get light to see what you are working on inside the house. He leaves the plywood up and works inside the house removing the plaster upstairs. After almost all completed he’s like “let’s remove the plywood and open the window for ventilation!” No common sense!

Great content, I busted out laughing when you walked into your shop, opened tool box draw, and with calibrated eye-ball; grabbed an exact sized pin. What actually made me laugh was your comment...."Well look a there" as the pivot pin fit exactly "Hoarding" it's never let me down!" Thanks for sharing your experience with your equipment.

Just found your channel and I'm loving the abandoned cabin series but holy shit, that roof is a hot mess. Not sure what the rules are in the US but no building paper means when it gets hot in summer, all the condensation is just going to collect under the steel and drip onto the plywood. And it can't get out because of your horizontal battens. So your ply is going to rot in no time at all. And no blocking to connect the ridgecap to on one side means you're just asking for trouble.

I woulda metal detected that property around the porch and underneath first, im sure you woulda found some old cool coins and relics. Also Shoulda cleared all the underbrush and trees prior to any work being done on or in the house. Woulda made things a hell of a lot easier and faster rather than skipping all over the place. Looks good tho. You live you learn.

Made in the US. No water protection on the concrete so water can go in to the concrete from the outside. No plastic sheet with bubbles so air can ventilaye between the sheet and the concrete. No dranage pipe on the outside below concrete bottom surface to lead away the rain water. No backfilling with small dranage size stones, so water find it ways to the dranage pipe. Instead backfilling direct with solid soil direct to concrete. What can go wrong...... Ps: if you dony want to use a vibrator to flaten out the concrete inside the box you can hammer the plyfa form from both sides and the concrete will be flattend out. If you gona make a solid foundation, do not forget to but in the ventilation vents in the ground so you dont need to make the holes later on and make holes for them in the concrete. With wet soil/clay direct to concrete you gona get a very wet air inside if you dont use vents. You dont want to get it full of mold in the house ground.

Is this the normal way to fix a roof in the USA? If you want to cut the costs there NOT gona a be on the roof. No water proof sealing to the wood and only one wooden rib between the wood and the metal???? So what happend if there gona be a leak, the water make the wood wet. The thing how make it worse is that the thin wooden lumber is on the wrong direction if you want to put them to the roof. You need first have some kind of water proof material after that you put a wood vertical so if there is a leak the water can go out from the roof, not stop , you just built a water stop barrier. Then you can but the horizontal ribs on the vertical. I wonder if it would be better to just screw the metal roof direct to the wooden roof, so water can go off, if you gone cut edges, do it the "right" way. Thats how we do it in Sweden and you got a roof that you can insurense. PS: even if there is no leaking there gona be condensation under the metal roof and the wood under going to be wet and stop at the horisontal ribs. I do not want to be the guy how complain but a be so surprice how many coments saying that the roof is so good made and im worried that they shall done the same mistake.

@99ProjectsКүн бұрын
I mean in the woods.
@MartinJohansson-nn5dv2 күн бұрын
See if i can explain this in English but here is how we making a flloor in Sweden much easyer and saving time. When cutting the floor beam put a wood plank direct to the beam, that the plank that skall hold the insulation board between the beams should rest. Then install the floor beams and then its easy to put the noggings and install the insulation sheets from ABOW, so you dont need to work under the floor and can install the hole floor from the upside.

Even a cursory look at the outside, it looks VERY good for unoccupied for around 100 years. It was at least maintained enough to prevent complete collapse. In my hometown there were barns no where near tress collapsed completely after only 50 years of neglect. Actual neglect too, as in no one used or maintained. This house was near trees as well. My guess is it wasn't used as a residence, but was cared for enough to maintain some laws regarding ownership or something. As truly abandon homes and property, especially as long as claimed, are in much poorer condition and often claimed by the state as no proof of deed.
@99Projects2 күн бұрын
This is probably one of the more accurate and thought out comments about the age of this house. And your most likely correct. It has been vacant for about 100 years. And it is abandoned, but it probably has been cared for into the 50s/60s.
