Why another parish? Is it really that important? How will Jamaica benefit from another parish? This change requires resources and funding that can be better spent on other more important things. Those funds can be used to update and upgrade infrastructures and areas that badly need attention. Kingston harbor is a mess. It badly needs cleaning up. Where is the KSAC? We want to bring cruise ships into Kingston harbor but the harbor itself and downtown Kingston are eyesores. Garbage is in the water and all over the place. Why not focus on cleaning up downtown and making it a safe, attractive, and desirable place to visit by tourists and locals. We seem to have our priorities wrong. I see no benefit to Jamaica or Jamaicans by creating a new parish. I can only see politicians jockeying for constituencies and fighting over votes and territories in that new parish, and that has no benefit to the people or the country. Only the politicians stand to benefit, and you bet that it is the politicians who are pushing for another parish. People, be wise. Ask them, how does another parish benefit us?
