I cannot even begin to say how impressed I am with this woman. And this camper renovation turned out simply beautiful!! You were blessed with the skills I wish I had. This is a gorgeous camper!

If I own my 5th wheel outright and replace the roof myself vs using insurance/rv repair biz, will I lose value in my trailer when I go to trade/sell it? Also, how long from start to finish did this take you and your dad? Thx!

So enjoy the videos, thank you. Why did you want to keep this fridge, when you normally replace appliances ?

very little information on reframing.... skip video
@fallenintocamping14 сағат бұрын
What are you specifically looking for in regards to reframing? I have each section laid out at different times (floor, walls, ceiling, etc). I have it laid out in the video with extreme detail (what supplies to use, how to join existing and new framing, etc), so I’m surprised to hear you say there was no framing information. If you’ll tell me what you’re looking for, I can point you in the right direction. Also keep in mind this video is for wood frame-if you have aluminum framing, I have different videos on how to repair that!

Never apologize for your beliefs! Personally, I'm not religious, but my girlfriend is. The basic tenets of religion often promote good values and morals, so we teach them to our kids. I even visit church and often have amusing discussions with the priest. If you treat others how you want to be treated, at some point, you'll reap the rewards. A little more than 15 years ago, I migrated to the US from Europe. While I know a lot about the US, there are still many unknowns. We live on the East Coast, and aside from the freeways between DC and New York, I haven't seen much of the US beyond the view from an airplane. We are considering building our own RV from a double-decker coach bus. First, we have a trial run planned to see if the RV life is something we want to pursue. A neighbor is lending us their Monarch 40' RV, and in mid-August, we will head to the Blue Ridge Mountains until the end of the year. It's just 80 miles from our home, but it will give us a good taste of what to expect. The school is also very supportive, and one good thing about the recent pandemic is that schools now have more experience with remote learning and supporting homeschooling parents. My oldest starts 3rd grade in a few weeks, and if life on the road isn't for us, she can join her classmates in January. I want to see more of the US, but I know that every time we're on vacation, I get bored after three days. "Relax," she says. The most relaxing thing I can think of is turning on my computer and starting to work, but of course, that's not allowed. So much for being free to do what you want! If we do enjoy living on the road, we'll start the renovation of the bus in 2025 and probably hit the road in 2027. Like you, I'm very detail-oriented and want to do things right the first time. So, converting the bus will take a lot of time. If we want a small taste, we can always borrow the RV from the neighbors. Loved your video and the final result. Very good work!

Great job on the video. Short and thorough without time wasting fluff. In regards to your sealant comments, I wanted to mention that I did have an internal leak in our RV coming from a bad A/C roof seal. I still wouldn't muck things up with sealant, but wanted to let others know that if they have an older RV, it might be a good idea to inspect or swap that seal out if its over (10 years?) Ours is a 2011 Navion

Just a note: the only thing I would have done differently is using wire nuts instead of crimps on the electrical wires.

Question. Does a 35’ fifth wheel mean you need a 35’ membrane?
@jean-francoismathieu8788Күн бұрын
Question: Why did you put the glue coat only on the roof and not on the membrane also (glue on booth pieces) ? I think the glue manufacturer suggest to put on both . Thanks for this excellent video.

I enjoyed your story, it was enjoyable to watch you renovating this camper. I was so impressed with how talented you are, from tearing it apart to rebuilding this RV. I thought to myself, when you started tearing out the water damage part, I thought 😊 that looks so complicated, how is she going to put it back together, but as you mentioned, you learned from the best, your dad, and also the Almighty God has given you a gift in learning to measure, carpentry, plumbing and electrical. You are a creative woman who knows her stuff. Thank you and I enjoyed your video for the first time. I have always wanted to own my own RV and so maybe someday, I will get the courage to buy one and learn to renovate it myself. God Bless.

The camper was a mess & you worked hard to get it back to a beautiful trailer. Great job!! PS ... I LOVE your narration. The music drives me away. I liked your explaining what you were doing on the repairs. Great job!!

I been deciding on whether or not to just tear my camper down or fully renovate it. I just been doing parts of it and needs a full overhaul as my ceiling is caving in this summer and already torn up my shredded pork of a floor. 😂. But main question here, either way I am going to have to dispose of much larger debri. Is it dump worthy? Its definitely not burnable lol.

You didnan amazing job ma'am. I believe id use closed cell spray in foam over the fiberglass if i ever have to dig into repairing a camper. I could be wrong but it appears the camper body is supported from the frames outrigggers, meaning the floor doesn't go under the walls?
@fallenintocamping3 күн бұрын
Correct. Most of the floors do go under the walls, but this one didn’t (which was surprising). Curious-what’s the advantage to the closed cell foam? I’ve never used the stuff but always open to doing things a better way

Great video and detailed. so i have a 2006 weekend warrior LE 3505 which is a 35' and a wide body of 102". I went to recpro to purchase. do you recommend the 8' 5" or the 9' 5" width. also the length a 35 or 40'? One more question. I need ceiling tiles but rec pro does not have them. can you recommend a vendor. since mine is wide body, i need a 98" width ceiling panel and not a 96". TIA
@fallenintocamping3 күн бұрын
Most RVs are a true 8ft across, so the 8’ 5” leaves enough room for the overhang on the sides. If you’ve measured and yours is 102” then I’d order the 9’ 5”.
@fallenintocamping3 күн бұрын
About the ceiling tiles-is that what’s currently in your ceiling? I’ve never heard of ceiling tiles before. Usually it’s 1/8 inch plywood or upholstered. It’s going to be tough to find a panel that’s 98 instead of 96

Excellent video! I'm about to replace my roof and an watching a lot of these. One detail I haven't seen in any yet though, do you need to clean/sand the osb after removing the membrane? There's a sticky residue and sometimes dirt on it.
@fallenintocamping3 күн бұрын
I don’t. When I remove the old roof membrane, if you look in the video (and I should have included this part) you’ll see that when I cut the sections I pull from all 4 sides and then pull up to keep the dirt and screws from spilling over onto the OSB. Basically trying to push the dirt and screws into the middle of the membrane and pick it all up at once, one section at a time. A little dirt is okay, and sticky is okay. The glue will still adhere to it just fine if it’s sticky, you just don’t want it caked it dirt. If you try to sand it, it’s going to be a big pain, and you risk compromising the sealed side of the osb (notice osb has a smooth side and a rough side-the smooth side is typically roof side and rough side is inside the ceiling)
