Girl, magic loop pisses me off like nothing else. I refuse to do it. So you are not alone! Nothing makes me more frustrated and people keep trying to recommend and push it on me and I'm always like.. No I will die with these DPNs and short circs in my hands. 😹

I've just started learning to knit with dpn's because I want to knit with more than just straight and circular and yes, they're all over the place, but I aim to finish my very first pair of socks in a week. Or two?😅😂😂😂

The Women is so good!!! You really can't go wrong with Kristen Hannah. I recently listened to Forged By Magic by Jenna Wolfhart. If you have not read or listened to it, you might enjoy it! Yeah, I'm in the Seattle area. We didn't have AC growing up because it rarely go over 85. My Husband is from Indiana and insisted on getting centralized AC when we got married.

I totally agree with the magic loop two at a time. I made the same decision as you 'two at a time contiguous'. For socks, it runs rib/rib, leg/leg etc. So when you get to toe of the first sock, all you have to do is the toe of the second sock. I have double sets of needles in all the sizes that I use most often. No second sock syndrome here! Good luck on the leg warmers. You can knit a little fold over top to make a channel for the elastic. I would do that instead of carrying elastic thread because when the elastic wears out, you can replace it. And yes, the "only boys play video games, so we don't need female avatars" thing has bugged me from the beginning! It's about time! Let's hear it for the nerd girls!!!!!!

I'm doing Green Link and then Pink Zelda. I'm ordering fabric and gathering floss this month. I can't wait for the new game to come out! I'm starting Link in August and Zelda in September to commemorate the game. Then for about a week at the end of September I'll be putting my needle down to game. If you want to do a SAL, I'll wait until September to start Link.

I loved The Women!, although I love everything I’ve read from Kristin Hannah.

The way I laughed out loud when I knew the exact book by seeing the corner, Kimberly Lemmings Mead Mishap series was absolutely hilarous and fun! I definitely suggest continuing with the werewolf one and the human one. Also if you liked ACOTAR and are enjoying TOG, check out Jennifer Armentrouts Blood And Ash series along with Flesh In The Fire. I loved them more than sarah J Maas. (My opinion obviously) ❤❤ as always, love seeing the stitching!

Gideon the Ninth is amazing! It is confusing for a while, but the payoff is so worth it. The second book is the similar. I listened to all three at the end of last year and immediately went back and started listening again, and that’s not something I usually do. What really helped me was getting the cast of characters figured out. 2-3 names per person didn’t help. There’s one more book left in the series and I can’t wait for it to come out.

I had a very similar experience trying to knit socks two at a time using magic loop. I absolutely hated it and kept trying to give myself time to get used to it, but eventually just took them off and put them on 9" circs. I don't like magic loop for anything though, I'd rather use DPNs any day.

Love all the progress! You got so much done on Autumn Harmony it looks like! I only have about an hour left to listen to on Throne of Glass and I'm loving it too! I agree about the love triangles, I do feel bad for one person. Especially cuz they are like friends and such... But I'll have to go put my hold on the second book now! I have like 3 others right now that came up though, so plenty to keep me occupied. Enjoy your summer!

Hi Jamie Love your WIPS - you are making great progress on them. The Leg Warmers are so pretty. Love those Colors. You will love The Women by Kristin Hannah. I am reading the Physical Hard Back Book myself and I am like on Page 190 something. This is my own book. I did check out the Library Book of this but it is over 300 some pages. So I bought my own Copy of the Hard Back. I love this book. My area right now is in the 90’s. It is hot. I have to have my A/C because if I don’t I can’t hardly breathe. In my opinion two at a time on the same needle make the project seem longer. When I tried setting up was what confused me so I knit about an inch on both socks then put them on the same needle and worked from there. Soon got feed up with it and seperated them. Now I do two socks at a time on two needles. I do the leg on one then the leg on the other and so forth. Nice to not have to start all over again. I want to change my choice from Link to Zelda, Now I know you are going to play as Zelda you really should work on Zelda while playing. Obviously just my opinion 🤣

You may not have many projects but you have made great progress on those you worked on. That Halloween piece is SO close! Your knitting is looking good, too. The yarn is adorable in leg warmers for your daughter. The trick, btw, in not getting a ribbed pattern chosen to knit is not showing them as an option. 😊 😅. 82degrees in the house would be pretty miserable. I know that I grew up without AC and it was hard to sleep some nights. I just remember windows wide open and fans blowing and sheets pushed down. Good luck.

Thanks for the information about Pattern Keeper on PC. I have an HP laptop that I use for work. I am going to be getting back to old WIPs soon ( for Stitch the Summer Olympics hosted by The Naptime Stitcher ). I have only done sporadic cross stitch on small projects since I started quilting in 2015.

Oh my gosh I totally get the knitting frustration 😂 I have definitely been there before with having to restart multiple times! That was a good idea to use two 9 inch circs to get them done at the same time, I will have to try that! I hope you like The Women! It wasn’t my fave Kristen Hannah book I’ve read but I know a lot of people have loved it!!

I've made a note of the scary book thank you for sharing, I've recently read I am pilgrim (could not put it down, read it in like 4 days)! I've also read never lie by Freida McFadden that was very good,, I read that one in a day lol kids don't like it when I read too much so I'm taking a break now. So my Mom used to knit with 4 colors all the time to stop the knotting she would take a piece of cardboard and pull each color through the slots of cardboard and it helped with keeping the tangles at bay, mostly.

I would efinitly do Green Link first and then Pink Zelda, but all color versions are spectacular!

Jamie, I am so glad to see you. It sounds like you are having fun and enjoying summer. It’s good for you to relax and enjoy your kid adventures and good weather. Do you not cross stitch outdoors? Just a question since I have been trying to do that on the days that aren’t steamy and hot. Love your yarn and your new yarn for the shawl works very well.
