This song has everything: that great drum lead-in and brass intro; excellent lead vocal by Dennis; perfectly arranged and performed background vocals, masterful brass arrangement and performance; tight, perfect drumming. No flaws in composition, arrangement, or recording. And yet it didn't hit #1.

From Wikipedia: "I'll Be Seeing You" is a popular song from the Broadway musical "Right This Way". Its music was written by Sammy Fain, the lyrics by Irving Kahal. The song was published in 1938. The first four lines of the tune replicate the theme of the last movement of Gustav Mahler's Third Symphony. I'll be seeing you In all the old familiar places That this heart of mine embraces All day through. In that small cafe; The park across the way; The children's carousel; The chestnut trees; The wishing well. I'll be seeing you In every lovely summer's day; In every thing that's light and gay. I'll always think of you that way. I'll find you In the morning sun And when the night is new. I'll be looking at the moon, But I'll be seeing you.

It was a shot of hope & energy for an abused & lonely boy on the verge of suicide in 1963. No wonder it was used in the uplifting Cher movie MERMAIDS .Thanks to Edye and the great Mann /Weil songwriting team.
My husband and I dated 50 years ago when we fell asleep at the drive in movies and we fell asleep… ops 😂

The Everly Brothers is one of my favorite singing duo from the 60s though i would be born a decade later. My father instilled in me a love for the songs from his era. Sadly, he is now 78 years old, permanently stuck in his wheelchair and suffering from dementia 🥹 He has forgotten many things but he continues to light up a smile whenever he hears the songs of his generation. Stay some more with us, Papa. We don't mind taking care of you and Mama as you have both taken good care of us your 12 children through the hardships of life. We will forever be grateful for the lessons and wisdom you have imparted to us. Love you both and love the music from your generation 😘🤗.
