Pretty great but that guy sounds like a caveman when he screams, which isn't what you want in metalcore, you gotta sound like an animal when you growl.

Unskiable? No its not that great, but yoir not rippin it whatsover. Skkers have used old connelly mahogany skis, EP skis, old kidders and of course the old cypress garden skis in the beginning. I have skied on one of these my friend still has to this day. I skied 28 off 36 mph, 6 bouys over and over on it. I got a few at 32 off but its been years

I feel you. I am 30 lbs over my typical weight!! I am 55, been skiing slalom since 12. We have a Mastercraft...used to the old 80's Reinell that took 10 seconds or so to get a person out. I cannot get up.

Good tips but obviously the boat your skiing behind makes a ton of difference as well. I'm a 150 lb, 48 year-old woman who's been slalom skiing since she was 15 and getting up behind our little 2001 Four Winns 170 Horizon is a lot more work and I use different techniques vs getting up behind my friends 2006 Mastercraft.

@udhoop
@udhoop 2 жыл бұрын
That depends if your back foot is in our out. If your back foot is out you most likely are gonna be leaning over the ski until it gets up on plane. If its in you can stay more upright.

Sir; I am having trouble slalom deep water start behind a 2005 Seadoo 180 hp Supercharged jetski. 65 yrs, 180 lbs, Full throttle rips handle out of my hands. Could you please recommend an acceleration curve for starting ? Thank You.
@PaulJagerEngineering
@PaulJagerEngineering 2 жыл бұрын
I would progress from a very large ski, slow acceleration starts. Find your low drag position and hone it. Then move to whatever ski you like to use. We are using a Radar Butterknife for new-skier longline starts this season. Wiley's has 67" for $150. Fantastic ski for deepwaters.

Loving all your videos Jager! I’m finding them very helpful! I just upgraded to my first modern ski, a new HO, I have always been riding on a 1980’s beginner Jobe. Quite the learning curve when getting onto a more advanced ski but I’ll get the hang of it eventually! I’m out here on the mainland of BC, cultus lake.

The new skis are def a big change. Much faster in the cut. Never been to Cultus - used to ski the Pitt River for a while tho.

I'm 2 meters tall, weigh 120kg, built big and a bit fat now I'm old....just got a 15 foot boat with a 120hp inboard/stern setup, do any of you recon I stand a chance of getting up on one? Been skiing on one behind a coapped out old 80hp inline 4 Mercury for a little while now, but always started on two and kicked one off.
@PaulJagerEngineering
@PaulJagerEngineering 3 жыл бұрын
The inboards are pretty sluggish out of the hole. Much like a mid-power outboard (eg 65hp). If you get the biggest & wide ski it might work for you.

I had no choice. Learnt on a 50hp as a teenager. Then to a 70hp. It was always v challenging to get up. Key was to have excellent balance and strength as the drag through the water was so long before finally rising up. Also we’d get the driver and observer to lean over the bow to allow the boat to get on the plane quicker, and hence deliver more power. Bottom line, engine size makes all the difference to getting up (assuming it’s a decent driver too)
