I thought this house was yours though? I saw you drill into the walls for decoration and stuff and as a renter I thought man I wish I could do that 😅

Recently I was gifted Animal Crossing: New Leaf and i’m totally loving it so when you mentioned the game I was like 😍 I know you probably mean knew Horizons but still. I just started a few months ago so i’m still all about collecting things for bells and doing projects, and i’m having a blast. It’s a total time sink though for sure, but it’s helping me rest as well. I love your big Tommy plushie in the living room!

I generate strong attachment to inanimate objects too...and places. Not so much with people. Anyways, I had a coffee mug that was a gift from my sister for Christmas. I named it Muggings. After literally using it every day for 1.5 years It was stolen from me at my then favorite coffee shop. I took it to the bathroom to wash it, after which I then used the bathroom. After using the bathroom I walked back to my laptop to ensure it wasn't stolen and I left Muggings in the bathroom for 15 mins. In that short spam of time, someone stole my mug from on top of the towel dispenser... I had a hole in my chest for a few days...I have since received a replacement mug (Same exact model) and I use it every day, but I don't leave it any where. His name is Muggings Jr. The successor to the lineage.

Congratulations on the art show! I feel the same about writing. I've always been making art since I was small and still do, because given my autism/disability, that was my first mode of communication. The thing is that now, I feel the necessity to word thoughts and my communication in ways that I can articulate as closely to how I feel and think...but writing...man, it's hard! I have some book ideas but it's so difficult at times because my skill level is not at a point of fleshing out a whole story and it's so overwhelming. The amount of time I spend trying to finish a story, editing, learning, and reading books. It's a slow process that takes me years, but I have to respect it. I definitely agree, artists/creatives need periods of stillness and consumption in order to find ourselves and direct our creativity. I'm so glad you had the opportunity to tap into your creative side and dedicate some time to create and celebrate a new project. This was a lovely video. I always like seeing the process of a project. I hope you continue to create at your own pace :)

I love your videos! I always learn something new from you and get inspired. Ive been wanting to pick up the camera again and get into photography so thank you for that inspiration. Im also inspired to buy some of that Amy’s Mac n cheese this weekend lol I love Amy’s but haven’t tried this dish from her yet. Also I saw that you use Honey Pot pads and I absolutely love them! I’m most looking forward to celebrating the seasons to come and push myself to read more books.

Oh my gosh, I feel like you read my mind! I don't know if it's the heat or something else, but I get so groggy in the afternoons that I've been napping everyday instead of doing all of the things that I told myseld I would do 🥵😴 I used to get annoyed with myself, but I'm learning to accept that it's better to just let myself rest instead of staying awake, but being too groggy to do anything

Hi I just discovered your channel and I enjoy your videos very much !! I remember visiting the archives twice during school, and now I'm majoring in literature without a real profesional objective. Thanks to you I'm going to try to do an internship in the archives during the new school year, though I'm not sure it's the right path to get into this career (i'm from France) but I think it would match my personality a lot 😁

So happy for you. The shots turned out beautiful. I have a somewhat similar journey with writing. I didn’t do it as a business, but I enjoyed writing a lot when I was younger, I even did short stories, my cousins enjoyed reading them. However somewhere along the lines, with internet coming along and everything, I got distracted with so many other things stimuli and put it aside. Now it feels too difficult to pick back up - even journaling is something I haven’t been able to integrate into my routine because I just end up watching videos on youtube or gaming instead. Recently found out I enjoy coloring too. I just feel like I have this creative vein that is a diamond in the rough and I’m not sure how to explore it, and your video gave me inspiration for that. Also those beautiful nature places!! Made me want to go dip my feet in a creek. On another subject, as someone who recently got diagnosed with a type of ‘neurodivergency’ I would love to hear you talk about that in a different video. Thank you if you read this long comment (i can never summarise anything lol

@SheilaJoy
@SheilaJoy Ай бұрын
that's a big question! haha I recommend getting some experience to see if it's something you'd like to pursue more long-term. Many archives and historical societies rely on volunteers so you could try reaching out to a local institution and seeing if you could volunteer there. From the education end of things you can enroll in a college degree program (most employers look for a Master's degree in history or library science) or you can get a certificate from the Society of American Archivists (just to name one certificate program I'm aware of.)

As an Archivist, do you ever work on transcribing any of the materials for easier reading or does that fall to someone else?
@SheilaJoy
@SheilaJoy Ай бұрын
We may need to transcribe documents for a researcher, but that's more of a once-off thing rather than a long-term project. We do have some small transcription projects going on with volunteers.

@@SheilaJoy That’s so cool! If I’m understanding correctly then, you and others that do what you do, are the “starting point” for the materials when they are archived?

Lovely video! Great idea about summer intentions and being creative! I recently saw a video by Kate Cavanaugh Writes called Summer Writing Semester, where she created courses for herself. While, I am not a writer I like that idea. For example, maybe using hobbies like exercise , crochet, language learning, spending time in nature, and baking. What brand of computer and television do you have? Researching some options, Thanks!

oh wow! the course making thing sounds like a great idea. I'm not much of a writer either haha, but I love the idea of a hobby course. Could you share the specific video she talks about that? I tried looking but now sure if I missed it or something haha. I have a Macbook Air and our big TV is Hisense. The TV is actually George's that he's had for a number of years now haha.
