The modi is more for streaming conversion not really CD. I ABd it with my super tramp 24k CD and the 192khz version on tidal and it blew it out of the water

I never did try it for streaming. I don’t really stream anything so I guess it’s not too much of a loss. Thanks for watching!

Interesting SACDs of LA Woman and DSOTM! I've got both, but LA Woman via the boxed set, and DSOTM via the 2023 remaster. That Priest album is so hard to find in the wild though, I might just go the eBay route.

I much prefer Ill Communication and Hello Nasty, but that's probably because I was a teenager when those two were released, and they hold the most memories for me.

Just for you, I will. Mix-up is good but in small quantities for me, can’t do the whole cd back to front in one listen.

The whole vinyl community amuses me. I mean it's a bunch of old men and a few women who buy overpriced records because now the new remaster/remix is so superior. And they have 2 or 3 copies of the same record already. The idea is to outdo/impress other members of the vinyl community. I mean there are so many versions of Giant Steps, A Love Supreme, Kind of Blue, Aja, Dark Side of the Moon, and Rumors it's ridiculous. But as long as these people keep buying the same 50-year-old recordings over and over people like Atlantic, Blue Note, Vinyl Me Please etc. will keep pressing them, which is fine because to each his/her own. By the way, do you remember when MoFi was sued when it was discovered that it's "all analogue albums" were pressed using a digital technique? Funny thing, no one knew until it was pointed out to them in an article which I believe appeared in The Washington Post. That's my vinyl fatigue. Nice video, Gabe.
@Gabesmusicdiscography23 күн бұрын
Yeah, I remember when Michael @45rpm blew the lid open on the Michael Jackson one step. My vinyl choices have come down to me saying to myself, “do I want to listen to it or am I forcing myself to listen to it?” That’s why I chose rhino hi-fi’s Devo over Sabbath. Sabbath would be awesome, but I listen to Freedom of Choice way more than Sabbath’s s/t. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@budsmoker420112022 күн бұрын
Lol, ok dude. All physical media is under attack, but you do you. All music was once new music, so people will always buy reissues. The QC is the biggest problem at the moment ImO. Also All New LPs should have thier source printed on the back. Another IMO. Plus POP IS POP, artist and labels have always had ways to fleece their fans with new variants of same albums.

Great batch of CDs and records. Lots of music to listen to! I've seen that Hendrix record First Rays of the New Rising Sun around, but I already own The Cry of Love, Rainbow Bridge, and War Heroes. I'll consider picking it up. I have this Hendrix habit where I keep buying all his releases. Keep up the good work with your videos!

Thank you! I slowed down on the Hendrix releases. I prefer the latter (Band of Gypsy’s) stuff compared to Experience stuff.

You are on-cue! (LOL) Quincy was like Duke Ellington who had a "Suite" style of presentation that sort of can tell a story. Miles did some of this style with Gil Evans. It would perhaps appeal to the "beautiful music" crowd who like Martin Denny. Quincy belongs in the "J"'s. No matter how you file, there is always issues. My biggest issues is compilation cds since most artists in the cd era have more compilations than albums issued and many have single mixes or it's not really known until one opens them. I'm currently trying to collect all the cds by artists of interest up until 2008 or so. I don't collect the icon series but have almost all of the 20th century masters, definitive, ultimate, and classic masters series. Obviously the Hipo-select and import cds with exclusives were acquired first. And there are many that are mastered differently. Early cds especially those by Otis Redding on "Warner" as opposed to Atlantic are worth acquiring for stereo. The best way to file compilations is by what label it covers and then by year.

Late bloomer to Priest & Maiden, too.. First couple albums, from both, are the best they did IMHO. Agree on Ziggy. Real Misfits were awesome. Got the “Coffin”, a long time ago. Has almost everything, but I think it omitted “Bullet”, which is a filthy blaster.

@Gabesmusicdiscography2 ай бұрын
At least a month. I put them on my amazon wishlist and check every few days. Regular cds/lps too. The new PJ has already dropped $2 and it’s still a preorder. If you can wait 3 months for a $300 boxset, it will probably drop by $50-$100. Just gotta have a lil patience.

I’ll save rest of the world from my opinions on VH, Dave, Sammy, whatever that Extreme dude’s name is, smiling, prancing, shirtlessness, fabric scraps, microphones “tricks”, etc. for a cozy, private discussion/debate. Hi, Pam! I sometimes eat spaghetti, like regular people, now. But, my first attempt at Bolognese destroyed any jars off the shelf (which coincidentally appears on the days I return from work late, & is the opposite of that for which I’m hungry). So,…I’m still conflicted. Algorithmic church “offerings”. Go L&C!!!
