I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.

If I had the option I wouldnt have insurance. With as little as I drive and also with as much attention I use while driving it would be someone else who hits me and me not them. Also when you know you are on the hook and dont have insurance you would drive a lot more cautious I believe. With as much rates have gone up under Biden I need to save as much money as I can.

My parents did a reverse mortgage on a house they outright paid off in around 1984. It was about $14,000 dollars. They got a reverse mortgage in around 2008, the value of the house today is around $500,00.00. If I wanted to buy the house (because it is in a very popular tourist town) how do I find out how much I need to pay? I don't know how much my parents get per month but I'm sure it's less then $2000.00/ month? I guess I need to talk to my mom about it and find out what bank they used for the reversed mortgage.

I started investing with $150k and in the first 2 months, my portfolio was reading $274,800. Crazy right!, I decided to reinvest my profit and get more interesting. @Ingridlourd02 However, if you do not have access to a professional like Clementina Abate Russo, quitting your job to focus on trading may not be the best approach. It is important to consider all options and seek guidance from reliable sources before making any major decisions. Consulting with an AI or using automated trading systems can also be helpful in managing investments while balancing other commitments.

Here in 2024 thinking, damn this video is 3 years ago.... no way any place is that cheap, maybe renting with a roommate. My rent is 50% of my take home because rent is expensive and I prefer to live in a nicer house. But my monthly is not always the same every month. The reason it cost 50% is because rent increases every year but moving cost more then paying a little more a month. To those that do not know, you can ALWAYS negotiate rent when it's time to renew. Look up comps in your area and price them with what you pay (same rooms, sq ft, bathrooms ect). If you have been a good tenant though with little to no complaints and let them know when a maintenance order was needed without fault of your own. There are so many factors. Kindness goes a long way when asking to negotiate. $25/hr now is NOTHING in 2024 with inflation 😢

Congrats on paying the student loans off. if you continue to use a credit card, your not debt free. From the moment you swipe the card to the moment you pay if off, your in debt. It’s that simple. You knew good and well you wouldn’t get accepted to do a debt free scream, so why did you apply at all? The real reason please. Also, your cars are paid off too? No disrespect intended. You did a phenomenal job. Lastly, you said in your video the number one thing with identity theft is credit card fraud, so why in the bleep would you continue to use them? It makes absolutely no sense to me.

A lot of problematic advice: 1. Apartments vs Condo: That's just not true. Most condos in major cities are owned by individual investors who may not live in the the same country (a lot of Toronto condos are owned by random Chinese investors). They absolutely do not care about making sure you're taken care of, you're basically just there to generate cash, and even if you move out, condo appreciation is enough for them to not care. Apartments make their money directly from the rent you pay, and vacant units are bad for business. Condo owners make most of their money through appreciation, and can easily switch to AirBnB if needed. They also don't need to worry about getting a bad reputation because people rarely associate complaints with the condo owner (they usually just complain against the building). 2. 30% rule: That rule is gross income, and not net income. 30% net may work if you have a car, but often times, you can spend more in rent and not need a car at all, which would save you a lot more money.

as a young person who made the video, i cant fault you for your view. but you dont walk a mile in the shoes of potential older viewers. imagine being in a home where you have half a million dollars of equity, but paying the existing mortgage or the expenses related to living there takes up all your income. your life is austere, the drudgery of the monthly routine is the same because you have no money to travel or spend time with far away family, or do that one project you always dreamed of. but your sitting on a gold mine. in 15 years, you will be too old to do many of these things. so how do you want to spend the rest of your functional life? what is the point of taking the wealth of your real estate to the grave? crossing the finish line with lots of money is only a good thing if you have someone you want to gift it to. my parents did that, but i would rather have seen them enjoy life more in the final decade. now its my turn.

Where I live it is hard to find a one bedroom apartment for under $2000 per month. Which means in order to follow the 25% rule, you would need a take home pay of $8000 per month. Using the Smart Asset calculator that would be about $144,000 annual salary. Good video, but it is just not realistic in many parts of the U.S., especially for single income people.

I had a mortgage balance left on my mortgage I became disabled and was on a fixed income. When my taxes became higher than my principle payment I cut end ran. I hate property taxes they only paid for my garbage pick up. The fire dept. was volunteer the roads were county maintained and double frontage caused them to be more. But the garbage pickup was horrendous too. It was the school taxes that were extreme and I had no kids in school? Why not tax the people who use the service to pay for that? But now I actually have a disposable income in another state. 😜. Take that New Jersey you corrupt mother F'er. The civil service pensions are onerous as hell...!!! There over compensated as sh!t and there's a Cost of living increases every year!!😡

Great video. However, in your summary you mention people getting a reverse mortgage to go on vacation or buy a new car when in reality most people I’ve known to get a reverse mortgage do so, not for frivolous things but, simply because it’s getting too expensive to live due to inflation growing faster than their available retirement income. Most retired folks are on a small, fixed income that does not increase year over year at the same rate as inflation. For those people, especially who don’t have heirs or family helping them, a reverse mortgage is a great option.

The market trend can turn around very quickly. In fact, the indexes often switch from a bear market to a bull market when the news is at its worst and the mood of investors is at its lowest point. I read an article of people that grossed profits up to $150k during this crash, what are the best stocks to buy now or put on a watchlist?
