Wow! Thanks for the video, my dude. It took less than 5 minutes to do the whole process, and key warning disappeared from the dash. I went ahead and ordered an after-market starter switch just in case the problem comes back.

Had to comment because I literally just accepted for the past year that I had to click my start button 20 times to get my car to start and turn off. Wasn’t the best thing for someone to see on a first date if I picked them up, and wasn’t easy to tell to a valet driver (“just keep pushing it, it will work eventually”). Did this, and fixed it in 10 minutes. God bless you, you sweet son of a bitch.

I didn’t have anything to pry it open, although was scared to break its clips. Through frustration at the difficulties I depressed the button and sprayed WD40 into its housing, hoping it would seep in and down through the mechanism and onto any contacts. I figured that the diagonal angle of the button situated in the dash would help the liquid trickle down. IT WORKED! So pleased. Fingers and everything crossed that it continues!!!

There is a recall for this. Anyone have issues with your dashboard display after fixing the start/stop button?

My wife has been telling Honda for the past year her start stop button was going bad. They kept saying it was her key fob, thank you for making this video, was able to finally fix it for her without those crooks at Honda.

Today I pulled my dash out to look at a new radio. I couldnt start my car, I figured the airbag light was a problem and it was. But ALSO there is an antenna next to the cigarette lighter, if that isnt plugged in it will not detect the key farther away.

what about if i need to press 2 times to turn off my hrv? thats my problem, in order to turn it off i need to press it twice or hold it for like 3 seconds to to it off.

Totally worked, thanks brotha. I'm not very electronic literate so I was a little weary of putting wd-40 on the circuit board but I just took a leap of faith and wouldn't you know the car started right up and the little key light is gone. Life saver.

When you say it won't start, what exactly is happening? Is anything happening? Does it send power to the dash, I have a similar situation. The dash lights up and I hear the starter click but the starter doesn't turn the motor over.

On my 2015 Accord Ex, the dashboard lights and the headlights come on but there is no cranking to start the engine. My car has s 2.4 Liter 4-cylinder engine with Manual Transmission. The battery seems fine (14.46 Volts) when the engine is running and 10.48 volts when the engine is off. It happens randomly and there is nothing I can do except keep trying and trying until the car starts. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Did you have to splice any wires on the car side or just at the radio to mate connections? I bought a similar radio and it isn’t entirely plug and play as it was only playing sound from 1 speaker.
