Just seen three programmes on BBC2 tonight about Eric and Ernie. Just ideal to include what has been a perfect Christmas Day. And some of their Thames work was unbelievable. For quite a period at ITV during this period, they were without Johnny Ammonds and Eddie Braben, though they all reunited eventually. I actually cried watching them tonight because it dawned on me that we will never see anyone ever again as good as them. Thanks to Eric and Ernie and all who made their shows possible.

Interesting! Disney are very particular about their copyright. They'll drop a ton of bricks on any author who uses the name of one of their characters in a book, for example. I know of only one book which does so - the anti-nuclear bomb Sockeye the Salmon by world renowned WW2 reporter Noel Monks. Did the BBC really pay royalties for this? Did Disney look the other way?
