This actually isn’t the original version, released in the 70’s Dolly wrote the song after being in a really dark place while trying to leave the Porter Wagoner Show and the fall out after she left. This song is like having a really bad day and crying about it to your grandmother and she hugs you and says, “it’s gonna be okay, baby”

Yeah man, that's good ... unmistakably good and infectious 😊 I know Tim's reputation is as a songwriter but what a voice, shame he didn't have the same success as a singer

Blessings to you Rick Trevino, great vocals and a great lyrical song. Seems like yesterday back in the 90"s when good country music was still around. Miss these artists and this song brings back memories of a love lost.

For me, the Statler Brothers didn't become THE Statler Brothers until Jimmy Fortune joined them. His voice just fit the rest of the guys like a glove. Love this song.

I remember hearing this in the late 80’s and it was amazing how Western Swing and Big Band were able to be blended together.

I read a memoir by Jackie, one of her daughters. She claimed Tammy later privately confessed to staging the kidnapping in order to cover up domestic abuse by her last husband.

I only discovered about five years ago Rodney co-wrote “U Don’t Know How Much I Hate U” with Stevie Lukather of Toto. The connection was Albert Lee and Ernie Ball Music Man guitars. Steve’s version is on his album “Luke”. Very Dylanesce. Look it up and give it a listen.
