Thanks, that was most illuminating Mo. 👍 Often wondered about how/when/who in terms of trades. In the end, we're all just pieces of meat for the consumption and discard of team owners. Whether that be hockey, baseball, football (my own brief dalliance with NFL tryouts) or other team sports. Ps. Can I call you "Mo"? 😆

You're my favorite West Coast Express Era Canuck :) I've been chearing for the team ever since Game 7 Round 1 of 1994 I'm so happy you have this channel now. I'm excited for next season, but a little nervous about what might happen in the off season with all the U/R FA's then again I trust Patrick more than I trusted anyone since the Last Patrick to be the GM of the team.

Great stories, I remember the day you were traded to Vancouver that's for sure. Question: do the teams have a designated employee which help you with the "logistics" of getting a place to live? Is there kind of a network between players who have been traded about "you can rent my place and I can rent yours?" Or did you just stay in a hotel for a few months in Chicago?

I'll always remembering meeting you two in Halifax the day before Team Canada had that exhibition game vs the US. I was so nervous. I got out from school and went downtown looking for players to run into and hopefully get an autograph. By pure dumb luck I run into the two guys I wanted to see the most. I still have the hat you signed, and two hockey cards Ed signed, I lost the card you signed. 😕

Why was Jersey so reticent to sign you before training camp? If they really wanted you around, they should have gotten you that qualifying offer. The trade request was well principled considering you had to wait before you signed.

Haha!! Amazing stories, Brendan! I've definitely heard that people often find out they've been traded on Twitter or on TV rather than knowing ahead of time, but your personal examples are way more interesting than that. Thanks so much for sharing. I'd love to see you do a video after the next couple NHL playoff games as well. I loved your insight with the Vancouver series, and obviously cared way more about those games, but these playoffs ARE still very interesting and some slightly-shorter videos with your insights would still be SUPER welcome!

Good vid. I went to Dallas and saw a few games live in 2014. Whenever I was walking in the concourse and heard the commentary playing over the PA I was like, "who is that? That guy's Canadian for sure." Found out it was Razor and looked him up on Wikipedia and sure enough he's from P.G. He is an amazing commentator! For other stories, how about any interactions with the media in any of the cities you played in. Good, bad, ugly, funny, any that are memorable. There's probably a few with Burkie in there; he's a whole topic on his own. The Jeff O'Neil Show shouted you and your KZfaq channel out a couple of weeks ago during the Edmonton series, and had a few laughs reminiscing about you guys calling Nazzy in Sweden one time or something.

That trade and that Canucks team brought so much excitement back to Vancouver. Tune in to watch Matt Cooke and co. run around and basically bum-rush the other team through the first 5 to 10 minutes of the game straight. Stick around for the roller coaster of emotions after that.

Outside of game 1 this was easily the least exciting 2nd round series to watch. I think the Canucks WAAAY over achieved this year, which isn't a bad thing, but reality hits you right in the face when it's game 7 and you have 1 shot on net in the 1st period and you show up to play for only the last few minutes of the game. Their style of play reminds me of the mid 1990s NJ Devils except less exciting, if such a thing was even possible.

I get vibes from this team of going through what happened to the Oilers after their run in 2017 when they looked incredible in the first 2 rounds, should have won the second round, but lost. Expectations were that the Oilers would take the next step in the following year, but with some roster changes, and some players not having great years, they took a couple steps back before they pulled it together to be where they are now. It does seem likely that the Canucks do take a couple steps back next season, with a bit less luck than they had this year, and with the moves that are sure to be made here in the off season.

8:54 No, Pettersson didn't dry up right at the wrong moment (playoff). He dried up long before that (when he was the leading scorer in Vancouver), after the all star game / after the trade, after the insane amount of changes to his lines (as they tried to find a good spot for Lindholm, which they eventually did, though everyone cried at Lindholm then), and he (Pettersson) lost his confidence. But it happened and started long before the playoff. He scored 14 goals in December, for example, but after the trade, after the all star game, that is when he lost it (he lost his confidence as a scorer). And yes, he can play playoff hockey (for example, he scored 18 points in 17 playoff games the first time arround, 4 years ago).

With all due respect --- you are sugar-coating the Canucks. Canucks sucked in the last game, literally. Outshot 23-4 in the first two periods? Are you kidding me? Lowest shots on goal of all the 16 playoff teams. Why? Their power play also sucks. Why? And the big critical question that is going to be a huge problem next season -- Elias Petterson. Highest paid player on the team, their star franchise player ----- was a huge disappointment and you are guilty of wishful thinking in saying that "hopefully" he will come back next year. It's not going to happen. The guy is over-rated.

i see all the reviews now. People are all slagging the canucks for game 6 and 7 but you have to remember they were suppose to be a bubble team and barely make the playoffs They won the division. Secondly they everyone said they were not a good playoff team ranked 11th out of 16teams and they got down to the final 8 and almost the final 4. Great stuff just applaud the effort and this team for being amazing now we can relax for a few days lets wait until we start crushing the team They deserve some time to move forward.

@Marixa1979 24 күн бұрын
Losing Demko sucks for sure, but I don't know that he would have played any better than Silovs did, he was really great and by far the Canucks best player. The Boeser injury in game 7 hurts for sure, but you only lost him for the one game, the Oilers were without Henrique who is a comparable player for basically the entire series, having him in their lineup would have certainly solidified their 3rd line. Injuries are a part of the playoffs and what makes them so frustrating, but every team gets them, you just hope the team can battle through them.

Pretty much what happened was that after game 5 the Oilers went into another gear whereas the Canucks stayed in neutral. It was clear as day what was happening and the Canucks couldn't handle them. It was a disappointing 120 minutes to end the season but it wasn't a disappointing season in total.
