Only time I had a fake prop gun on set, I kept it on my person at all times for the one scene it was in - lying next to a body. There’s even a BTS photo of it in the back of my pants. We were low budget so I was going to be the only person in charge of it. After it was put away in the back of my trunk. And I think it’s a good idea for actors to take a shooting course if their role requires handling a gun. I’ve only gone shooting a few times, and their reaction to recoil (vs no reaction) would be more believable. Good topic. Looking forward to more episodes.

If the light is orange what is the best way to match that. I did a small rotopaint on a frame hold for a locked off camera but the lighting will not match when I apply the curvetool to the rotoPaint pipe. I know I’m missing something simple just can’t find the issue.

My guess is you have not linked the RGB channels on your grade node. Likely your grade still has a unified gain knob instead of separate channels. If you separate the channels you'll get the color you're looking for.

I literally did look at the title after all the Heat love, wondering if I missed that in the title. But I did like that Frank (Ziti now in my head forever) said ‘If you’re doing an independent project, treat it that way. Not as a Hollywood project.’ And then the talk about folks being real people and not be a jerk in expecting certain things.

I just watched JR’s short film and I was definitely anxious about what I knew was coming. An unexpected ending though. Best statement of the pod: “You can pull another magician.” Question for JR: With the Kobe With the Fro” video, the Staples Center was okay with your “recreating” their arena?

I appreciate the love on the short film! In regards to the stadium, I figured if it got to the point where they reach out, that means the video is doing it's thing and we could address it at that time. Also, we're not putting it in a bad light so I felt that wouldn't make it a hot subject.

Thanks! I know some people have had decent luck with Fiverr, and there a groups on social media like Facebook and LinkedIn with names like "I need VFX" etc. and those can be pretty good. Most of our clients come from word of mouth and in-person networking at film festivals and other events.

Regarding Geordi restoring the Enterprise D. I think it's safe to say he wasn't restoring it by himself but rather working with a team at the Fleet Museum. Also there was some question as to how he got it off of Veridian 3 but that was answered in the episode. Starfleet removed it due to the Prime Directive. Understandable David would be confused though as he said he hasn't yet watched the full episodes. I think it was explained adequately enough in episode.

Hello, I'm a beginner trying to composite a new background for my stop motion Tiff images that were created from a photo editor program (not photoshop). I created layers with parametric masks based on luminosity and key and luminosity combined but they are only RGB layers. I managed to send the red layer to the alpha channel in Nuke but in some cases the mask is slightly larger than the subject. Would I be able to use colour smear to shrink back the mask and add some motion blur? What other tool do you recommend if I want to refine existing mask layers? Or if the mask layer has some of the background bleeding through yet I want the whole area to be consistently masked?

hello when ever I premult the colour smear all the extended pixels disappear please help. What I mean is also is that the smear mask is too thin in relation to the actual rgb smear pixels so whenever I premult the colour smear is much smaller than I need it to be. How do you ensure that the output smear mask is exactly the same and extends as far as the colour smear?
