OMG! I’ve been looking for this video for years! We got a new suburban in ‘97 so in my memory it was a Chevy video on vhs and my brother and I would watch this more than we should honestly (I don’t know why). Cut to yesterday on an international flight watching old episodes of 30 Rock and one of the extras is Mort! His face unlocked the memory and after searching IMDB I finally found the old video from VHS nearly 30 years later 😂

In Jay Mohrs book he said Martin Lawrence gave the same monologue speech during a rehearsal and Lorne Michael's never said anything, he said have a great show which surprised him. Jay said they knew it would never air again when he did it live.

Besides the misogyny and all around not being funny, I can’t believe he had the audacity to rip off Redd Foxx on live television. The latter half of this monologue was a cheap imitation of one of Redd’s old jokes.
