Hallo Olaf, ein wirklich sehr hochwertiger Beitrag - Aber!!! Ich halte es für einen schweren Fehler, soviel Aufmerksamkeit auf eine bislang vom Massentourismus noch unverdorbende Natur zu lenken. Bin allerdings auch der Meinung, dass das Schöne und Wunderbare was Menschen erfahren, mitgeteilt werden sollte - Negativmeldungen gibt es viel zu viel! Jedoch nur in dem Maße, dass das, worum es geht, durch Publizität keinen Schaden erleidet oder gar zerstört wird. Meine nun folgende Kritik gilt auch allen anderen begeisternden Beiträgen, welche die Julischen Alpen huldigen. Sie ist auch nicht gegen umweltbewusste Besucher gerichtet - diese gab es immer schon und die sind naturgemäß in jeder (!) Beziehung emissionsfrei. 2014 hatte ich den Triglav-Nationalpark für mich entdeckt und fuhr seitdem jedes Jahr für zwei Wochen dorthin. 2022 musste ich feststellen, dass eine vermutlich durch Fernsehdokus ausgelöste Touristenwelle die Ruhe aus den Wäldern (mitunter kraftvoller Harley-Pulk-Sound im 15-Minuten-Takt!) hocharomatische Waldluft durch Auspuffgase und - was m.E. am Schlimmsten ist - die Gelassenheit der indigenen Bevölkerung kontinuierlich zum Verschwinden gebracht hat. Liebenswürdigere Menschen hatte ich selten kennen gelernt. Die ehrlich gastfreundlichen Blicke, die mich früher empfingen, sind nun jedoch abgestumpft und strahlen in dem Bewusstsein, dass Geld nicht alles ist, so etwas wie Resignation aus. Um Missverständnissen vorzubeugen: den wirtschaftlichen Aufschwung gönne ich der Region - der Preis ist m.E. aber viel zu hoch. Meine unzähligen Foto- und Videoaufnahmen hatte ich bewusst nicht in die Öffentlichkeit gebracht - obwohl sie (Meinung von Freunden) wegen ihrer Einmaligkeit und Qualität wohl preisverdächtig seien.... Die Konsequenz für mich? Ich werde jetzt größere Entfernungen auf mich nehmen müssen, um mit der Natur glücklich wieder Eins zu sein. Wo? Wird geheim bleiben, allerdings nur solange bis ... s.o.

Die im Film gezeigte AKC Weste mit Cowtail passt noch nach Jahrzehnten... alles andere nicht. Der Spezi L von Hans Memminger hat vor längerer Zeit sein letztes Lüftlein ausgehaucht. Das Packraft ist sicherlich ideal in den Genuss zukommen, Flüsse zu befahren, ohne viel Zeit auf dem Flachwasser zu verbringen.

Kudos for the die hard. Yea bro looks like a negative post back deck roll followed immediately by a left positive C stroke would be the only combination for a clean out. I have been the senior rolling instructor here in the Smokies since 1999, and this makes for a very interesting video for me to strategize about.

so what happened? he must have exited the kayak right? it looked like he got out of the boat- which let the boat go thru? the paddler must have somehow swam out?

he was still in the boat until the end of the slide. His luck was that one kayaker was already in the pool to safe him from drowning there.

@@OlafObsommer wow so he was still in the boat but upsidedown? did he need mouth to mouth resesitation? ya you just can't afford to swim in huge water like that. i've saved that video- its the most terrifiing clip on kayaking if ever seen! this is where a set of hand paddles (i have my own design- the blades are as big as a standard paddle blade) on the deck could safe ones life- you can doggie paddle to keep your head above water with those- and the roll is easier since you have 2 blades work with at the same time.

@@markschuette3770 nah, just exiting the boat would have saved his ass. on big water i'd agree with you, but on a technical creek like this, getting out would have been better. also you can see how the boat gets flushed pretty much as soon as he gets unconscious.

@@lordofnothing. ya i saw the yak release- suddenly so i though he may have bailed which could have released the boat. i carry a set of home made hand padles on my deck- so i can loose the clumsy main paddle and put on the hand padles which give me 2 arms/hands to roll- and i can dog paddle up for air also!

Also, the Bike2Boat series is awesome. It’s all truly great filmmaking, the best in the kayaking world for sure.
