I will be doing similarly. I’ll pasture my pigs in my banana groves and goats on the rest of the farm. I’ll split the paddocks into seven per area on the farm and rotate them weekly. I think that I will plant potatoes or peanuts or sweet potatoes after the pigs are moved off. I will plant grasses and clover after I move the goats off.

I have 5,5k square meters in coconut and bananas. I am adding three adults and three children to the farm. This is in the tropics, zone 14, so things grow chest high in no time. I can run pigs on the bananas but not goats. I have a few breeder pigs and two water buffalo now and some native chickens. I want goats as well and want rotate them on paddocks seven days at a time. I would like to avail the goats to neighbors for weed control in their groves as well. Is it advantageous to graze pigs with the goats or do I need to keep them separate? I plan to make a wagon wheel style paddocks using electric fencing and house them at night.

How do you roundup the chickens to go into the pens I guess about dusk? Do they automatically just go in themselves? As far as predators..do you ever have any problems with fox or coyote at night or even in daylight that can get to them? It’s beautiful there…awesome farm and such excellent care for all. I’m going to visit this year!

Hi! Thank you for the questions and kind words. Come out for a farm tour this season, we’d love to have you! All farm tour info is on our website grandviewfarming.com. The birds go in a night by themselves and our livestock dog Mauser does a wonderful job protecting them 24/7.

Great video! Do those rubber matts on the sides of the chicken tractors effectively keep predators from getting in? How thick are they?

This is an awesome piece of equipment, great review. We use a small Deere feed wagon for laying hens, but I'm sick of slanging buckets for hogs and broilers on pasture. Wish me luck finding one!

Look up the Valentini Stone Crusher...if you can find one in your area it will make those limestone out croppings into dust. Then you can bring some dirt in and mix it and you'll be good to go

I'd advise dropping the 'Organic' tag. It may be different in America but here on the top of the world, Australia, it is bureaucratic mess, a guarantee of hippy farms and secretive, weird people. Regenerative Agriculture (RA) is the future for farming, which is what you seem to be doing. I assume you've listened to Gabe Brown and market your produce directly - but as an RA product can be very different (in a very good way) from Organic grown stuff it is worth pushing against the 'government-approved machine'. When you get into composting and making teas; and building worm farms you'll start flying. (No videos on that so I've assumed you aren't.) Dr. Elaine Ingham is quite watchable on the topic. Thoe by-products are soil health accelerators.

Not as pretty but put a herd of cows in the cover and they do much the same job. They even recycle it turning it into earthworm food. Did the clover crimp? One NZ farmer says it doesn't but there's crimpers and there's crimpers right? Slugs = ducks. Looks good.
