Awesome Lanny! To be fair, The Genius was one of my favorite wrestlers completely independent of the Macho Man. I would have loved the character to wrestle for longer. Unique and very entertaining.

The problem with wrestling now is everyone wants to be “the rock”Everyone wants his career path. WWE to these kids, is nothing more than a stepping stone.

The origin of Sputniks name is a fun story. Born Roscoe Monroe Merrick and changing his last name to Brumbaugh after his stepfather adopted him, he made his debut on the carny circuit in 1945 at the age of 16, using several names over the years usually with his middle name Monroe used as his last name. Then came Sputnik. In 1957 the US/Soviet space race was getting started in earnest with the Soviets scoring first blood by placing the first artificial satellite, Sputnik, into orbit. Everybody of course made a huge thing over it, "The Soviets are winning, they'll have spy satellites and nuclear bombs up there next!". At about that same time Monroe was wrestling in Tennessee, just a standard old match against some good guy wrestler, nothing special, when he heard this little old woman yelling up a storm in the front row. This wasn't anything special either really, these little old ladies were sort of fixtures at ringside at the time, often called "Hatpin Mary's" because they tended to wear these old-style hats popular at the time that were secured to their hair by these large pins, wrestlers liked to egg them on since they tended to be quite vocal against the Heels though they learned to keep a respectful distance as these old ladies could whip out those hatpins like Inigo Montoya facing the Six Fingered Man at a moments notice ("You killed my father, prepare to die!"). Anyway this particular old lady was yelling up a storm, nothing unusual about that, calling Monroe every name in the book, and when she ran through all those she started looking for words not in the book. That's when she hit on Sputnik, she had heard about it in the news, apparently not quite sure what it was, but from all the hulabaloo it was obviously a bad thing, so she started yelling "You're a damn Sputnik Monroe, a Sputnik!". Monroe heard her say this odd thing and it kind of stuck in his head, he considered it for awhile and decided Sputnik Monroe had a nice ring to it. And the rest is history.

Vince just don't see much in many wrestlers. Vincent's obsession with muscle bound guys made him unable to replicate the Ora of Hulk Hogan in the 80s that carried the WWF. Ryback is "the looks". But talent in the ring... eh. He debuted in 2012 repackaged as The Ryback... and quickly got the WCW Goldberg treatment... squash matches with nobody's, feed me more, feed me three 😂 nonsense. The guy was clearly not ready for the big one.. he was green. It's clear Punk was unhappy with the decision to push Ryback despite the outcry of Goldberg Comparison and apparent stiff work ethic. But hey, Bret Hart still cries Bill Goldberg legimately hurt him in WCW with that God Awful kick that ended the man's career 27 years later in interviews all round bret bashes Goldbergs in ring work style.. Punk had the well deserved HEEL Run of the 2010s. His rise to prominence during his summer of Punk was similar to what was done in ROH... It was the style of his final days of his WWE career. His final run was the biggest star in the company. - Punk beat Cena in Chicago at MITB 2011 and walked out literally with the WWE Title. The clock strikes midnight you never see Punk again.... he walked straight out of the company that didn't think he was a good enough fit if it wasn't that Paul E saw something in him. Punk would never been The Guy in 2011.. - Punk def Cena again at Summerslam and the decision to have Alberto Cash in during this was insane! Alberto lost everything at the expense of killing CM Punks Best Work Ethic since his heel run in 2009. Punks downfall ultimately drew the line at the wrong man winning. Hunter DID NOT NEED that win against Phil at Night of Champions. Despite Punk having a WWE Title run of a lifetime... all his momentum started draining after a loss to The Rock.... then sticking around and losing another Big One, this time against Undertaker at WrestleMania 29. Then losing to Brock lesnar at Summerslam after a hiatus. Punk was burnt out with nagging injuries, a road doctor gave him the ok to compete. He got given laxatives and performed on Smackdown against Dean Ambrose and literally SHIT himself in the ring. He wanted The Shield to "go over" at TLC 2013....

I understand Punk's frustration during this time. He was constantly putting over part-timers like Rock, Brock, Taker, HHH, all while being white hot in the eyes of the fans. Even when he was champion, he was never given the opportunity to be "the" guy, no matter how hard he worked. Walking away was definitely the right move for Punk.

Kevin Owens is a great talent. His matches against John Cena and Sami Zayn were the best of the 2010s. If Kevin Owens hit the gym everyday and got jacked I thought he could've upgraded and stayed at the top of the WWE. Sami Zayn too, the WWE should've upgraded their talent. They both did their jobs well. People with short attention spans like Vince Russo don't understand that

All the "top guys" we've had for the past 20 years were rats and boring dudes with no charisma like Orton and Cena, because they used their position to get talented guys like Anderson fired. They viewed Anderson as a threat to their spot because, unlike them, he has charisma and a personality.

You had the horsemen you could bring in buddy lindell with his horsemen the originals vs the new Honkey US champ that belt had a great history and you have honkey make the belt mean something , then a young up and coming talent take the belt think warrior vs Honkey in the WWF and they had a dream locker room and never used them so it was lost chance to finish the monster known as WWF

How i wouldve done WCW was the NWO the big 3 Nash , Hall ,Hogan and instead of Eric joining right away you wait have the $ guy be Ted ( M.D.M) has the guy and only take N.Y guys Macho , Honkey , Brett and do this for over a year and Turner finds out as part of the program he has lost power because how Eric has spent money and Eric comes out he has been on the psyroll of M.D.M and then it would look like WWF guys vs WCW and even Warrior comes in goes NWO piper to then you have warrior vs sting.

You have to blame CHRIS Candido as well....when all your Wrestling colleagues in the Lockerroom are telling you that your girlfriend is cheating on you with Shawn Michaels...and you do or say NOTHING about it...then you shouldn't feel sorry for him anymore ..!!! Even CAndidos little brother...has told him to LEAVE HER !!!! And if he doesn listen ....then nobody should feel sorry for him.anymore !!! ... He knew the TRUTH and still didnt do something about it !!! And people who are saying yeah poor Candido he had to accept the affair otherwise he would have lost his job in the WWE .... is also wrong...because he still was with sunny after they had left the WWE... and that was a big mistake of his ...he should have been smart and let her go after they were out of WWE .... and he still accepted her behavour no matter what.... so Nobody should feel sorry for Candido !!!!!

Bruno was such a beast even in his older years he was in great shape and looked like he could run through a brick wall. But, steroids were not deemed illegal until i believe late 80s/early 90s. It was all still legal and even after the scandals and such, you could see people still unnaturally big, and all itd take to be exempt from being popped for roids is have a prescription, which is how the roids stayed in the business. Today is so advanced with their drugs you can take them and not show on a test. When you see a drastic transformation in someone, like Jinder Mahal you know dude was using.

Sting was basically in the Dusty Rhodes spot, better as the underdog chasing the title. But they had to hold the belt for a little while at some point, otherwise audience faith in them starts to erode.
