It does frey a lot but I think a thin layer of glue over the finished edges should solve that problem. It would aslo make for easy cleaning, just a wipe over with a soapy sponge.

I was peacefully watching your video until you said the paint colour was Coffs Jetty. "No, it's not" said my brain. Then I ended up having a discussion with myself on the paint colour versus the colour of different parts of Coffs Jetty versus possible variations in screen colors. Once I finished that, I rewound to watch what I missed until your pair of swans at the end. (Or should that be mutton birds,or seagulls?) I agree the original fabric was gorgeous and it was a shame it disintegrated. I have found that fabric that has had years of dust embedded will disintegrate when cleaning attempts are made. The fabric you ended up with suits the timber finish very well. Great job.
