Hank's buckets collect the sap from a tap pounded into the tree to get the sap that will drip into the buckets and later boiled to reduce the water content to create a sweet maple syrup.

Acetone and automatic transmission fluid (50:50 mix) is the best penetrating loosener for rusty and seized nut and bolts. WD40 is an oily water dispersal fluid, not really a penetrating lubricant.

Hugs and love for sharing your gift! I am a novice, just a few weeks into watercolor. I am so glad I found your video as it is such an inspiration to me to study and stay with the basics while gathering knowledge and inspiration from masters as yourself. Two years from retirement, can’t wait to enjoy painting more often and continue my journey to find my style!

This is likely hard to believe,,, but take it from an old mariner,, water not only creates rust but water also dissolves rust. Just stick an old bolt and nut into water and by hand you can thread a rusty nut further and further onto the bolt. you can actually see he rust dissolve.
@gregwarner37533 жыл бұрын
That happens because rainwater is slightly acid. Soaking rusty iron parts in commercial vinegar, acetic acid, removes rust quite well.

Robert Sulley, I didn't know the name of the artist until I stopped the video on the signature. It would have been nice to be introduced at the beginning or have something in the description about him. Who he is and where he lives would be nice.

I'm surprised that they didnt hot dip galvanise all the metal parts, it would give much longer protection than paint. The electro-galvanised sheet-metal lining to the wheel will rust very rapidly, because they drilled holes through it which exposes the steel to the galvanising, and will set up electrolytic corrosion. Stainless steel would have been preferable, or even aluminium, but more expensive of course. I always fancied [fantasied] restoring a mill, it would be a very satisfying project. Alas, too old, too poor, and too tired now.
@gregwarner37533 жыл бұрын
I know what you feel like.
@niklar553 жыл бұрын
@@gregwarner3753 You and many others, probably.😒 I think its the location aspect of mills that is half the attraction. Rushing water, is very relaxing. That combined with a rivers' natural greenery, is half way to heaven. Another attraction, would be, that installation of a water turbine, would allow total ''off grid'' existence. Combine that with a trout and/or salmon farm, and that would be the other half of the way to heaven.
@johnstevenson17093 жыл бұрын
They would be valid points if they where building a new mill but they are restoring a historic structure
@niklar553 жыл бұрын
@@johnstevenson1709 Maybe, but it's still worthwhile making the restoration as durable as possible.

David Wood Art : This man has a lovely natural and REAL approach to life and painting. No need to be vulgar and nasty just because he is not your style; your comment says more about the kind of person you are, which is not Good.
