New Bolt owner (newish, I should say.. I bought a 2020 used) and this thing made that very same noise. It wasn't a particularly cold day though, we had just pulled off the highway and decided to charge at a station and shopped around for 20 mins. Came back to this gurgling noise. First time it's done it, I've charged multiple times prior and never heard this. Scared the crap out of me. Happy to know it's a normal thing, just don't know why its doing this in 70ish degree weather. Didn't give me any warnings or performance issues coming home, so I assume it's not something to be overly concerned about. Car knows stuff I don't I guess.

Power sharing is an underrated feature. We now have two Tesla's with two wall connectors run off one 60 amp breaker. It's great to have the wall connectors communicate and manage the power between the two chargers both running off the same breaker.

Write a registered eyes only return receipt requested letter to Mary Bara like I did extolling the virtues of the Bolt and then your problems. You will be amazed at what happens. I have the extension number of a Chevrolet laison between GM and the dealers. I have a bolster for the seats. I have a 2020 LT trim and with 141,000 no major problems at all. Was directed to the dealer that had extra batteries in San Diego right away after I communicated with my laison.

Had my 2020 bolt for little Over three years, with only thirty three thousand miles on it, And recently, the software detected an issue with my battery where it needs to be replaced. However, the dealership said that Chevy told them that they would not pay to replace it. So I'm in the process finding out why. So I was just wondering where I could find that Chevrolet states that it's an 8 year warranty because I've been hearing that it's only a 3 year warranty.

Thank you for this video. If you don’t mind me asking, is your system single phase or split phase? Do you know if the Wall Connector can be installed on both and can operate at the full 48A in both systems? The installation guide says single phase but also if you install in split phase to do something Looking to possibly get some for my workplace and I don’t know what configuration we have, but want to make sure it can operate at max speed in either config. if it can work in both.

Thank you for the comment and for watching, I’m glad the video was helpful! Sadly I can’t share links, but if you google “Tesla Wall Connector Power Management”, the link will be a Tesla.com page that will explain more. I believe ours was setup with a static install, meaning it will be max power (48amps, 11.5kW) if a vehicle can handle that, or if you have a limited space on your electric panel this can be adjusted based on the breaker. With our install, I knew I wanted the max power so I didn’t ask our electrician for options, but the nice thing is that you have options with this charger! I hope this is helpful!

@@EverydayEV I have another question if that's okay. It's similar to my previous one. I know you said this Power Management, which is very useful with those options of static and dynamic. However, with your static setup, say you wanted to charge less than 48 amps one day to put less stress on the battery. Let's say we do 32 amps instead. Can you change this amperage through the Tesla app or inside of the vehicle through the screen? Also, can it be done through the app or inside the car for a non-Tesla vehicle, too? I hope this makes sense. I am especially wondering if you can change it through the app only or also in the vehicle for non-Teslas.
@EverydayEV
@EverydayEV Ай бұрын
Oh sorry I totally forgot to answer that 😅 I know if you have a Tesla vehicle in your account, you can limit the amps using the Tesla app, but I don’t believe you can if you just have the charger set up in your account. Ive charged our Nissan LEAF using our Wall Connector and I have not seen an option to limit amps, there’s no option either in settings. I will note that Tesla does send OTA software updates to Wall Connectors, so hopefully they’ll enable this in the future!

What owners at least in Australia have to do is order a batt from AUG Energy in Shenzhen (China) and they sell refurbished batts with new CATL modules and the local EV shop will then install them, not Nissan. They sell batts from 23kWh (US$4,400) in steps up to 63kWh (US$10,000). Perhaps wait as CATL claims batt prices will halve this year!

In 2019 in Australia a Leaf owner was quoted $35,000 (US$20,000) to change the battery, so this owner went onto the web with this sorry tale causing Nissan HQ to say we do it for AUS$9,985 (US$6,000). Problem is, neither Total Nissan in Perth, Western Australia nor Nissan HQ is interested in replacing the 23kWh batt in a 2014 Leaf in 2024. Sad! Nissan prefers you to scrap your Leaf and buy a new one (63kWh) for less than US$36,000.

I would love to have seen a report of a Leaf from different climate regions than Seattle, perhaps in areas like Phoenix, AZ where summer temperatures can be in excess of 110 degrees F, or perhaps in areas where winter temperatures can be well below freezing. This is not a fare test considering the car has barely been used and is driven in and around an area that is conducive to an optimal temperature range for the Leaf.

Set it to charge only to 80% of full most of the time, or even more ideally run it between 80% and 50%, which you can do if you are not on a long commute, and then you barely need to worry about battery degredation.
