One big bio petrol facility can give heat and gas to a small town or small industrial area. There is one in my country . 3 large silos in ground and the instalation 2 men are taking care of that place private buisnes. 24 tons of bio waist from the farmers is enough to run it. After the process all the bio waist goes back to the farms as fertiliser. No unpleased smell in air. Closed cycle. The best is moust of the money for that buisnes is from the Government. Moral of the story. Something like that should be next to every city every village etc. We are making so much waist every day tons of it. All that crap can be changed to energy with minimum costs.

Double barrel is MUCH better as there is very limited o2 intake. An open top kiln is very inefficient and should only be your stop gap until you get a retort set up

Actually you can compost urine and bowel movements together but it takes longer to be ready for use in the garden … I suppose that’s the difference. But, there are probably other advantages to separating it.

Seriously: If you're living a "sustainable" life with lots of plants and animals around, there is no way you CAN'T come up with the 1.5 gallons/day of organic matter.

Where I live we have a local drinking water network that only serves 2 villages of about 5000 people. Working independently of the centralised network, corruption set in so a few "special" individuals bypassed their counters and irrigated their gardens and fields with water from the network to save money on electricity/petrol. Told them it'll eventually poison the ground and I was ridiculed, told I was envious. A few years passed and it turned out I was right. They're now watering using water from wells like before and like the rest of us did while they were wasting our money. Some of their faces after the "I told you so" were worth it tho.

I'm curious! Would you guys be willing to collaborate with people in other countries? Places like Australia, Canada, other english speaking places (Or not, spice it up!) to see if it's applicable in different climates/all over the world? Or consider adjustment for those different climates & material costs?

Absolutely. Much of the tech we use will work in Canada and UK. Almost everything we use here in Georgia will work in Australia and NZ!

liFePO4 would be better, yes they are not as energy dense but they are much safer and have a much longer lifespan. the temperature range alone make this the best option (-20F to 140F vs 32F to 113F). if using lipo i would definitely suggest putting them in a mostly underground storage unit with a top opening roof some distance from the cabin. a shed would work too but without geo thermal cooling youd need to use a dedicated ac unit. either way make sure its in the shade most of the day. as cool as it all is you do not want to risk your home. if you are in a very cold environment then use a heater or build a fire resistant mudroom or partially separate shed (wall to wall) sharing ventilation so the batteries will always stay above freezing. if they need to go in the house then you must go with LiFePO4.

masonry mesh for weasels and hog paneling for raccoons. as the masonry goes down the side of the coop run them 12-16 inches across the ground and secure with tent stakes to prevent tunneling under. that plastic stuff and chicken wire will only prevent the chickens form getting out, it will not protect them from predators.

Wait a minute i got too many questions now... I am quite interested to make that. 1)So you seal the holes of the middle bucket with newspaper, the bucket with no holes remains empty? 2) When do we know that we can put new compost on the top bucket? 3) when do we collect the compost from the middle bucket and how are we sure all the worms went up on the new compost? 4) what are those nets that you have on the lids and is it a must to have them?
