God so much to learn. Really like what you are doing. For a smaller farm like ours what drill would you recommend for cereal sowing into covers and cover crop sowing into stubbles ? .. What's your soil like ? How many years of no ploughing ?

Have you ever tried placing electric fence in a " W " form rather then straight ? Every other post....or ever second post in and out in and out. This way every other post gives you slack to move the wire further down line. And you dont need to roll up the wires. Just move posts. The " W " can be extreme or gentle. I seldom roll up wires.

Please do you leave them on the field overnight or you move them to their pens daily?

Why lay a hedge on the edge of a wood when youve got fencing? Coppicing would be easier and would provide some edge structure to the wood

How many cows? How big are you paddocks? The grass *looks* mono-culture. What are the varieties?

How many cattle are you running per acre and how many sheep. Do you ever run the sheep. Behind the cattle? By a week or so for example?

Hard work on your own. Me and my brother have started doing it on our farm. In no particular style, but the results from the hedges we've done before is really satisfying to see.

Are you pinwheeling around your water point looks beat up. Your doing a lot of things right. Be carefully not to have any bare soil. Cattle are beautiful.

Hi Billy, you could roll the cover crop with one of those crop rollers before planting in order to flatten them and block any emerging seeds to avoid companion cropping. Just a thought. 😅

Really interesting video, i have a few questions how do you manage the size of wedges when the livestock increase in weight, would you remove stock from the group or is it as simple as more frequent moves and change of size in wedges? Thanks

We have probably the worst drought in 20-30 years in north-east Poland. Hay crop is half about year ago. We still have some grass on pasture, not too much but we fight. Not much rain in forecast in june.

Yep, we keep moving! The rain forecast for next week has quickly dwindled down to a very low chance of some showers 😬. Will start to get serious if that’s the case!

We have the same here. South Europe has rain too much. It is difference with rotational grazing, still green pastures and dome growth.

We are running into the same issue having too much grass for the sheep. This year we are going to experiment running the cows in behind the sheep to see if they will knock it down as a substitute to topping the pastures.
