I used to enjoy retro ads like this, because they would trigger great memories from the times they're from. But lately, they've really been driving the point home to me how far away those times are and how different things are now. Different for me and the members of my family, different in the quality of what's on TV, different in how our society functions. I think hitting my 40s added to the change in my outlook of these ads. When I think about how different my parents and other adults were in their 40s versus how my generation of "adults" conducts themselves, it makes sense why we don't produce television as quality as the generation of adults who made the things we enjoyed as kids/ teens. All of our shows have adults who talk/ joke like smart-ass tweenagers or are super dark subject matter.

I’ve been trying to find the fun with Jane and Jane one for so fucking long, the line that Luanne says (panty raid). I found out through an official geocities site that archived each deleted scene (just Google KOTH geocities)

The excerpt from the website “"Fun With Jane and Jane" (6ABE15) - Act 2 of this episode originally went something like this: Dale tells Hank that the Omega House is a cult; Hank initially doesn't believe it (since it's Dale saying it), but starts to worry when he hears that the Omega House is going to take Luanne to a "commune." Peggy decides to stay over at the Omega House for a night to make sure Luanne is okay, and Peggy gets brainwashed by the cult. The rest of the episode follows as in the final version. - There was a line in the promos that was cut from the finished episode: "Is this a panty raid? I guess I'll have to go put some on."” Idk why this specifically interested me, I was investigating lost media for KOTH (there’s not much tbh)

I like Street Sharks. I don't know how that show keeps surviving cancellation and popping up on different networks. It first premiered in 1995 on my Fox affiliate, then it moved to UPN. It reran for a time as part of the USA Network's Action Extreme Team the following year in 1996. Does anyone know when it was on ABC Saturday mornings as part of the "Animal Broadcasting Company" block? It was also the same year (1996) right before Disney took over. Ugh, that show just wouldn't die...

In my area, Family Matters reruns used to come on syndicated through my Fox affiliate WTAT channel 24 cable 6 in South Carolina from 1993 to 1995, again on The WB affiliate WTCP (later WBNU) channel 36 cable 3 from 1995 to Jan 1997, and again on UPN affiliate WMMP channel 36 cable 13 from 1997 onwards, while season 5 to season 8 were airing on ABC from 1993 to 1997, and season 9 was airing on CBS in 1997 to 1998 at the same time, all in the 1990’s. I watched it because of the Winslow family, Steve Urkel & friends.
