This arrangement is really good and surprisingly organistic! One thing that will help your playing sound more clear and make it so we can hear the rhythm and individual voices better is making a clear break in between repeated notes.

The organ is the only instrument that can match the full beauty and absolute *POWER* of this song. Amazing arrangement! The opening up of the organ from 52-60 gave me goosebumps! (also mmm that first chord in 66)

Hello from thr east! Loved the registrations and tempo fam! Its beautiful piece but does run the risk of durging if it's any slower. Do you play the second movement from Op 5 as well? Also, which instrument did you perform on?

Good pieces for teaching beginners on the organ. One of my early teachers used to have an old then, series of publications containing a handful of gems, that was titled "Graveyard Tunes."

I'm looking at John Stanley's Ten Voluntaries Opus 5, and this isn't it. It's not in Opus 6 or 7 either. It's a delightful piece of English music but not in any of his collection of 30 Voluntaries, Opuses 5-6-7. That said, I should very much like to get sheet music for this fun piece.

Hey, it's from Opus 5. It's the Adagio from No. 8, that may be why it confuses you. This is the sheet music - s9.imslp.org/files/imglnks/usimg/4/4f/IMSLP379648-PMLP10505-Stanley_Voluntaries_Op.5.pdf

Hi, I really like your KZfaq channel! I've found lots of interesting and lesser-known organ pieces thanks to it. But, this piece wasn't actually written for the organ; it was composed for the harmonium instead. Playing it on the harmonium isn't as easy (it depends on the player's skill and the quality of the instrument). Still, you can definitely play it on the organ, though it won't have quite the same musical effect as it would on a French harmonium. I don't mean any harm with this comment. I wrote it with good intentions. Wishing you lots of success and perseverance with your channel.
@thepotatomusic
@thepotatomusic 3 ай бұрын
True, but harmonium pieces are all playable on organ; if I recall there is a piano piece in this series too.

Is it only the organ that you can pass the law of parallel fifths in harmony? Or is it allowed between the bass and tenor?
@thepotatomusic
@thepotatomusic 4 ай бұрын
It's a tool for beginner composers, not a law. Yes, in many cases parallel fifths shouldn't be used, but I would trust Jacob Collier on this... In no way is it a law, unless you're in music school.
