Proper radiographs are HUGE!!! And there is (imho) no substitute for a great FMX with vertical bitewings. Hi Gordy!!

No explanation why it's really an issue other than it just doesn't look good on post fill radiograph? They aren't the sort of filling you'd replace anyway, maybe not impossible but it'd still be hard to mistake that for caries.

@stak45DDS Strep mutans has been attacked by scientists and researchers numerous times in my career with minimal success in "real world" compliance. Let's assume strep mutans is eliminated, just name the several other organisms associated with caries. Dental caries has been declared as "cured" at least 5 times in my career. Rest assured, dentistry is still a viable career choice.

What about the antimicrobial peptides developed at UCLA that specifically targets Strep. mutans and can be administered via mouthwash? Do you see any chance of drastic reduction in cavities in the near future?
