I think that people don't understand what this is about: the ribbon is there mostly to protect your toes, because you cannot wear socks with high heels, and high heels put A LOT of pressure on toes. so here are ribbons! this is not for decoration purpose, even if it does the job.

Here’s an idea: don’t wear shoes that wreck your feet. High heels like this have a toe box that’s too narrow and heels too high, placing all your weight on the balls of your feet. Styles come and go, but those feet need to last a lifetime. Take better care of them than this video shows.
