Who has time to do all this? A want a quality bed cover but don’t want to do this crap. There has to be another way. What a waste of time. I’d rather just take the plastic Bed liner out.

Hey Charlie, Do the Silverados from 1999-2006 use the same G2 bed cover (226100) as the ones from a 2008-2013 (226120) as they are all the same size and dimensions, but I assumes they use different rails. Thanks in advance!

What do you do if my brand new truck has a tailgate that is just a tad higher on one side than the other?

I just installed the MX4 on my 2024 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2. I chose the BakFlip because I had one on my 2018 ZR2 and it worked well. Installation was not difficult, however the spacing and shimming sheet only covers Colorados up to 2016. I didn't seem to need shims so that was not an issue. Folded up against the cab the BakFlip was up against the light on the top of the cab. The D shaped cab bumpers were of no help, but I used the included much thicker foam pads to resolve that problem. The holes to hold the threaded posts in the cover for the buckle ends were 3/16 and the posts were too large to fit. I drilled them out to 7/32 and that worked. Step 7 has the rear clamp 6 inches from the tailgate; the configuration of the bed allows the clamp no closer than 9 inches. Four rubber washers are included, but only two used in the directions. I used the additional washers on the large flat bolts that secure the cover on the top.

had 2 issues with my install yesterday (3-1-2024) 1) tail gate hit the rail, had to add a washer shim, and grind off the underside of the rail. 2) back corner cover came loose immediately, installed 2 side strip of tape and it seems to be holding. Not sure what the long term effect will be. Other wise it was pretty simple to do. I like the cover, hope it performs as advertised. It is definitely a snug fit on my 2020 GMC 1/2 ton Denali. hope this helps... tk

Can you put a sport bar on after the cover is installed?

I cannot find the dam bulkhead seal anywhere. Ribbed rubber seal 3/4 inch think. Lots of thinner ones, but 3/4 thick is hard to find. New ram 1500 with spray in liner

Just installed it today and ole man. It don’t seem like it can hold 400lbs spread evenly… I just keep it. Too much hassle to sent it back

Those bolts on the track system are T27 not 25. Using a T25 is a good way to strip the bolts

If you have a cargo devider on a 2018 it will not work once rail is located on bottom. You will have to sell the devider

I just installed one on my 2017 Tacoma and there are gaps where i can see the lights at the top corner of the bed where the tailgate meets the cover. I used the seal from the kit for the bulkhead that i did not use. Any explanation for the gap where obviously water would leak in?

Thanks to this guy, I used the power drive and stripped one of the torx screws getting the first bulk head off. I'll be off to a mechanic tomorrow to get it removed. Using a ratchet is more than fine, infact, much better than the 2 mintues you;ll save removing the cheap screws that are ready and willing to strip.

Just installed a MX4 on my 2023 Frontier. Not a hard install, even with the Utili-Track racks, that are in the way, that came on the truck. (I had four brackets at 9/16" however, two had 1/2"). Fitting the cover to the tracks was easy. And it appears to be a very solid cover. I'm satisfied and glad I opted to pay more.

I have one on my 2021 Toyota Tundra. It lasted just over 2 years before the covering started to show wear and started to come apart. It came with a 5 year warranty so they sent me a new top. Their customer service was easy to work with. I had to submit a claim with some pictures.

My old backflip that I’ve kept in the garage for years for my 2013 Silverado fits my new 2022 Silverado. Hard to believe dimensions were the same. 🎉

I'm not happy at all. The cover has a 1 inch gap at the tailgate and the right plastic tab popped off. I feel like I been ripped off.

Update, support at the end honor my warranty, great company, they take responsibility about their products. But they need to solve this issue because the cover is great, but not for high heat and when you roll and unroll frequently. Original post = The interlock system fails after 2 years and dont close, I cant find the stupid receipt and they dont want cover my tonneau that is supposed to have 5 years warranty Note=- after try to fix it, I see what happened, they glued a tarp on top of the metal system, that tarp hold the system together, when you roll and unroll, but here in Florida summer is a bill fail, so this tarp with the sun heat melt the glue and make the tarps moves, so when you roll and unroll after 2-3 years of heat and the tarp moves and the setup!d system they create, that is hold by the tarp with glue dont lock in the right interlock channel system that is supoded to be and bent the metal, aluminium, and with the time get worst, until is unusable after 3 years. great product, but need fix that issue.

Someone explain the one major fault downside annoyance and literal blueprint error ! How does one who spends 1000$+ do away with the noise the rattle the flop the extra noise this cover makes while driving . There’s wasn’t much though put into that issue . What has anyone done to modify the noise/rattle
